Alpine Recreation Center — Attraction in Los Angeles

Today I brought my 9 year old son & his 8 & 12 year old friends to play basketball outside. The boys invited players from this center to a friendly game of 4 on 4. Unfortunately one boy(no.#55) was not respectful & intentionally pushed the 8 year old boy from behind. Aside from mocking my son & his friend for missed baskets, this boy & his friend need to learn the meaning of sportsmanship. He adamantly refused to apologize when another parent stepped in to try to sort things out. I thought these 10 & 11 yr old boys would have some parent supervision present, but I guess they just let their kids do what...

For an older L.A. Dept of Rec & Parks, this place us well run. All Dept R&P public restrooms are best avoided if possible. This one has antique stainless steel, institutional ones like in old b&w prison movies. No playing field for field sports, but a good selection if other classes at reasonable prices. The paid after school program is in high demand even with the local Lausd being free. The piano and the new International Dance classes are of high quality. A small park like no other. Steps from residential dwellings and shops, and land mark restaurant in LA. Sorry no W.C available here some take it where no one sees while you hydrate park vegetations. I am in process of requesting or demand a portable outside W.C (restroom) and wash station. If you agreed plz band together and make Alpine park a.better.healthier place for All that come enjoy the park young or old. Public right and Decency shall remain standard at Alpine Park N in the community....
