I go to Sushi Stop in Studio City quite often. Overall, the food is really good. When ordering delivery it’s not always as fresh as dining in, but for the price it’s worth it. The only downside is one of the waitresses. Unfortunately, I don’t know her name, but she never seems to make an effort. Last time I was there on Saturday, August 15th and she didn’t even bring wasabi and ginger — we had to wait for another waiter to help us. She also never clears dirty dishes, and even after we finished our dinner, she never came back to clean our table.

Not a bad sushi place for quick lunch. Variety is quite good but price is not as cheap as it used to. Sushi taste is quite good, size also not bad. Ingredients are fresh and the rice is done right. The hamachi is quite alright, which is my gold standard for sushi test. Spicy tuna is ok, unagi is how it's supposed to be. Salmon is wonderfully fatty. Soba has good chew and soup. Fried jalapeños is fun to eat. Tempura has good crisp. Chicken teriyaki has some improvement to do. Ambiance is so so, service is quite fast.

I enjoyed outdoor dining but I think they are understaffed. We had to wait a long time for 2 more dishes to be served to us, and for the Salmon Sashimi with truffle oil they left out the caviar. As for the chicken curry, it was blend and unimpressive, but if they added the truffle oil / seasoning to it, it makes a world of differences. I think 4 stars is good for them, hopefully they will improve things later. I forgot to take pictures of baked mussels and salmon with truffle oil.

Google erased my comment, so I'll try to re-create what I posted yesterday.... My friend and I went for lunch around 2:20. Each of us ordered 3 rolls to-go, plus I got 2 more for my roommate. All very basic rolls straight off the menu.

We waited for nearly an hour, seeing delivery orders piling up inside that weren't even getting picked up yet, and people outside on the patio who had come, been served, eaten, and left! We'd waited by the pickup window this entire time; there was no way to forget we were waiting for our food. We asked about it, and my order still wasn't finished. Since we asked about it, we thought they'd prioritize it (as it should have been from the beginning).

Nope! Another 20 minutes goes past, and my friend finally says we don't want the orders, and want our money back. Then we got attitude from the girl at the window, telling us how busy they were (but weren't too busy to serve people after us first?) My friend said the treatment we'd gotten was unacceptable, and to refund us. Oh yeah, and my order STILL wasn't done! Then they tried to feed us a line about how only the manager could make refunds, and to come back tomorrow. Another customer who'd come to the window by that point actually said, "they always say to come back to speak to a manager, and they're never here." WOW

To wrap things up, we had to go inside so they couldn't avoid us, and demand our money back. So now it's after 4pm! What should have been a quick, basic lunch on our time off took all afternoon! We went to the location in Burbank, were treated 110% better, and were out the door with our food in 15 minutes.

There was zero excuse for this kind of customer service, and neither of us will ever return to...

I’ve been coming to sushi stop for years but no more! The decline in service has been going on for a while. I tried to be understanding given the circumstances but the rude worker today just pushed me over the edge. They’ve been having serious time delays in pickup orders. So much so, that after arriving for my order that already took an hour and half to be ready, I was told it would take another 45min. I had to cancel the order and go somewhere else. After that I gave it a few months before trying again. Today when I arrived at 6:25 for my order that said to pick up “around 6:30” I was given major attitude by the server who rolled his eyes and told me it wasn’t ready and that I was early. I asked how long and was told “I don’t know ma’am” I guess I was suppose to be ok with waiting however long it took and I apparently had some nerve for asking. I’m really not sure why I was given so much attitude because they failed to have my food ready on time. It still took another 20min. Had that guy (I believe his name may have been Andrew) been decent, I wouldn’t have been upset but now, I’m totally done with them.

*Also, the same generic reply on all the negative reviews is not a good look. It shows no effort on their part to make...

I've been going to this sushi place for seven years, and it deeply saddens me to write this review. Today, I brought my family here for the first time, hoping to share the wonderful experience I've had over the years. Unfortunately, we were met with unwelcoming and unfriendly staff.

After waiting patiently for our server to take our order, I had to go inside and personally give it to the sushi chef. As I was doing so, our server approached me, and I explained that we had been waiting for some time without any service. Her response left me speechless - "if you have attitude, I will refuse service."

I've never been spoken to in such a way before, and it left a sour taste in my mouth.

The food, thankfully, remains excellent, but the lack of hospitality and respect from the staff is disheartening. I sincerely hope the owners take heed of customer feedback and address any issues with staff behavior.

In the meantime, I'll be exploring other places that not only serve delicious sushi but also greet customers with...
