I spoke to a worker who said her name was Senator. I called to see if they had a book and the lady said they did and she would hold it for me in the front. I told her no that was fine I just needed to read 2 chapters of it I purchased it online and wasn't expecting it for another week and a project was due that required the book. Her response was, "ummm....we are not a library!" I was so taken back and embarrassed. I said well I have seen many people read at Barnes and Noble before and even study. I even told her I would buy something else but I was not going to buy that book because I am expecting it in the mail. I get it, it is not a library but that was really rude of her and it made me feel like I should just not do my assignment until I get the book in the mail (which would make the assignment late). She also made a comment that is okay to SKIM the books only if we are interested in purchasing. Thank goodness I called another B&N and I told them what happened and that I would buy something else If need be. He thought it was crazy. He said it was totally fine and people come and read. He said they have some couches and a cafe that was so packed at the moment because everyone was studying. He made me feel better and thanks to him I got to read the couple chapters I needed, and can now get my homework in on time. Funny, because I ended up browsing and purchasing 2 books that were not school related! They lost MY money! I will never step foot at...
Read moreIt’s been a while since I had been to a bookstore. And frankly I had really missed it, especially the smell of books. There really is nothing like it. And pre-covid I work at the library at my university. So being near books is kind of one of my happy and safe places. Although, currently, it’s a little hard to smell them since you have to wear a mask to go inside. But I went in with the intention of finding a particular book. Someone helped me (i forgot her name, but she was very nice) and the whole time we kept a nice distance from each other to keep us safe. Regrettably they did not have the book I was looking for, but I did find another book. And there choices of books is quite extensive. I also must note that they did have a nice collection of mangas. While not as big as their other collections. Maybe 2 or three bookcase. Ranging from new mangas to some classics. It was still big, all things considering. Especially from when I was little and it was barley a single shelf on a bookcase. I guess the only sad part is that you can’t be there for more than 30 minutes. But it’s for safety, so I get it. Overall, my experience was very pleasant! I...

So we apologise Studio City Barnes and Noble that we we're not up to part with our...
