Studio City Farmers Market — Local services in Los Angeles

Okay but not what I personally wanted

The farmers here didn’t have a complete selection of the fruit/veggies that I wanted and was able to find at the Encino Farmers Market (on Sundays on Victory Blvd.) A lot of commercial vendors and restaurants made it feel like it wasn’t very country-ish or farmy...more like a city carnival. Adding to this carnival atmosphere were actual carnival style activities for the kids. While this might not bother some people, particularly families with small children, it disappointed me because I was looking forward to experiencing a small slice of country farms away from city life—which was missing here for me.

It is situated near a Whole Foods Market and a Trader Joe’s which made it an easy convenient grocery shopping trip. 😃

One of the best farmer's markets in Southern California as far as I'm concerned! Great selection of organic vendors, LOTS of good food options be it breakfast or lunch, get the Musubi and Dave's Gourmet Korean! Best of all, if you have kids, there are lots of places to sit and listen to live music, there are bounce houses and giant inflatable slides and aside from the farmer's market fare, there are some great restaurants on the same block, Jones in 3rd (the real one, not the rip-off), Fork, Gungadin, and McConnell's Ice Cream! There's also Salt & Straw across the street for more adventurous flavors! It's also a safe neighborhood with decent parking options, WAAAAY better than Hollywood...

I love Farmers Markets in general. What I especially liked about this one was that it was geared to please everyone. They even had a few rides and bounce houses for kids (paid, of course, but still.). Also, I don't think you can find fresher fruit than in a California farmers market. I only wish I'd visited earlier in my stay. It was the day before we were flying out so I wasn't able to take full advantage of all the goodies they had to offer.
