First and foremost, I’ve been a fan of Sweetfin and have come to this location for several years. Typically I swing by after an evening workout down the street for a protein burst.
The food is always 5/5. Location is great and there’s always ample parking. I love that you can customize your bowls and I also like that they have special meals featuring select chefs, several who have been on Top Chef. I’m a huge fan of Top Chef.
I’m giving this place 2/5 stars because of the service I received this evening. Service was definitely 0/5. I was excited coming in to make a takeout order as I just finished a workout and was craving poke. I came in and said, “Good evening! Can I…” and then heard one of the two guys making the poke bowls imitate what I said verbally with a high pitched voice, clearly mocking or making fun of me for my voice. I immediately stopped talking, looked at the two guys, and they immediately stood there cold silent. It was obvious I caught them making fun of me. At this point, I felt so uncomfortable and wasn’t sure if I should move forward with ordering but conflicted because I was so hungry from doing a long workout and had been craving their poke. I ordered anyway as I was so hungry and as they made the food, I started questioning myself, “should I have ordered?! What if they’re doing something to my bowl?!”
I left home with the food and decided to not eat it. I questioned whether or not they did something to my food.
I don’t plan to come to this location again as I clearly felt unwelcome. Patrons come to a restaurant to order and enjoy good food. Not come in and get...
Read moreI have been a loyal customer of this location. Today when I went in (Saturday, March 7th around 2:10pm), I was planning to use my loyalty rewards points. When you select a reward in the app it gives you the option to redeem in app or to redeem in store. I selected to redeem in store for a free beverage. When you do that, a one hour countdown timer starts and there is a place where the Sweetfin cashier can mark as used once they add the free item to your order. The woman at the counter marked as used, thus using up my loyalty points I’ve earned by my many purchases I’ve made (again, I had been a loyal customer but never again after this experience). She (and the other woman working there) then tell me that I can’t used my points in store (even though in the app I’ve gone through the in store redemption process that is clearly laid out AND they have now marked my rewards points as used). I then said ok well give me my points back then and she just shrugs and says nothing she can do. Have a reward program or don’t, I literally don’t care, but if you do have one train your staff to use it and while you’re at it train them on basic customer service. I’ve worked at multiple food service chains in my day, and if I didn’t know what to do in a situation like this because I hadn’t been trained on the rewards system yet, I would’ve just comped the drink and asked my manager how to apply the reward next time I spoke to them (there was no manager working and both women working gave awful service and were untrained). I will not be frequenting this location again and I want my freaking...
Read moreThis was my first time at this Sweetfin, and although I had high expectations, I don’t think I’ll be going back. I placed a pickup order to use some rewards I had in my account, and left one that I planned to redeem in-store, explicitly because I figured all the online orders might be annoying for the staff and I wasn’t trying to make their lives difficult - however, I came in today, said I was there to pickup my orders and asked if I could please redeem my remaining reward, and the man at the counter said something like “oh you can only redeem so many in one day, maybe redeem it another day”. I tried to explain how I hadn’t used that reward, and showed him how it was still in my account, but he didn’t seem to trust or understand me. Maybe I should have argued more, since it expired shortly after and that was my only chance to use it, but oh well. However, with the food I got, I was mostly satisfied - except one of the things I ordered, the crab surimi salad, made me laugh when I pulled it out of the bag. It looks like someone ate it already, but that’s how they gave it to me; you can see it compared to another side salad for reference, and that one, luckily, they actually filled the bowl. I wonder what happened; could they have run out of surimi? Suffice it to say, that was disappointing. Maybe my orders and trying to use rewards was a hassle, so I apologize if it was, but I’m still a customer and I feel like I still deserve...
