Playita Mariscos — Restaurant in Los Angeles

We weren't planning on going out to lunch but found ourselves in Hollywood and decided to take advantage of the opportunity. My daughter offered "tacos close by or better tacos a little further away." We decided to go further and better. That led is to Playita Mariscos.

We were not disappointed! I'm a pescatarian and was delighted I could eat anything on the menu!! Yippee! That's unusual for me.

My husband and daughter ordered while I saved a table. It wasn't too crowded but we knew it could get crowded fast. There were a lot of people coming and going. Many had "to go" but the tables filled up too.

My daughter and husband came back with TONS of food. Pretty much a sampler of everything. It was all delicious! Not a bad item on the menu. My favorite was Campechana Mixto. So good!

We did have leftovers so I'm still enjoying the meal for a couple of days. And I can't wait to go back!

I’ve been there a few times . The girl that takes the orders is usually rude but the food is good. They close at 9 pm but for some reason today they closed at 8:40. After repeatedly being ignored at the counter because the girl was to busy talking on the phone and ignoring me completely. There were people in line behind me . I asked why are you closing early and she was rude and said where closed. She was on the phone with her friend and did not care to help her customers. She didn’t want to give me her name and I told her I don’t want your last name just your first name . She wouldn’t give her name so I can let the manager know it was her. I told her that I was coming back to talk to her manager in the morning to explain how his employee is disrespecting his customers. It’s not the fist time she has ignored people at the counter. First time trying this place tha other day with my wifey it was a hot day in l.a and still being hot at night we wanted something fresh light so we came to LA playita I got me a cocktail a mixta and a soft taco de Cameron 🔥 🔥 🔥 I got me a small shrimp cocktail I was trying to keep it light😅😅 I'm not going to lie that was one of the best I've had in a minute they have a unique way of splitting tha shrimp in half for their cocktails not only that they stuffed that cup to the top with shrimp I then went for the taco de Cameron after I was done with that I couldn't finish my mixta 😅😅 I guess tha light meal wasn't that light as I got full quick but never the less this spot gets a 8 from me and my lady very good tasting seafood for them hot l.a days and nights.
