So! As promised! Im writing a review! :D Came in I believe, last Saturday? I knew they were closing soon but my stomach was in panic mode! So, I walked over! Now usually I dont do this because I've worked in the restaurant industry and I know how utterly annoying it can be when someone walks in an hour before closing...but i knew I wanted something quick and simple...! Eggs, Pancakes, Bacon & Sausage.... I sat there waiting on my order, Ms. Franklin playing in the background...immaculate vibes ...the lady who took my order was awesome, patient, and beautiful! The homie who made my food, stand up brother!
What really got me was the price! Damn good pricing...(DONT CHANGE IT!) these people were kind and understanding, that my skinny ass needed some nutrition....the food came out quickly...and they served it with a smile even tho, they was ready to go home!!!
I asked the lady for an OJ was well! They gave it to me on the house (yes I tried to pay!) That alone made my day
Now the good stuff...the food...
I didnt know what to expect....pancakes right? Simple! Im low-key a pancake connoisseur, I know when someone uses water in the mix! Ain't no fooling me!!!
I got home, popped open the lid.... Yall..... I aint never seen some orange pancakes!!!
They were orange!!!!!
Thats my favorite color god damn it!!!!
Boom, bonus points already. So im thinking to myself okay okay some sweet tato pancakes , im down! Smashed the butter on there, laid the syrup down as smooth like...then ...I took a bite....
Hell nah they didnt use water....I dont know what they used all I know is ....I ate those pancakes so got damn quick I was mad at myself! Eggs.... the eggs I was skeptical about...but nope. Creamy and flavorful, I forgot to lay the pepper on em!!
I finished that tray and was mad I didnt get more....here's the best part....
The got damn "itis" got my ass!
I supposed to be doing work next thing i know I feel like someone is suffocating me with a choloform rag!!!
Im dozing off looking like I just hit the fent and its night night time.....
Yeah I got the best damn sleep that night...I was eating my dinner and I was thinking about the got damn breakfast!!!!
Cmon now!
WHAT DID YOU PUT IN THOSE CAKES MAN!
don't care, will be back for more!!!!
Orange pancakes you...
Read moreTalâs Cafe has been around for 83 years as of 2023 (established in 1940). That alone should tell you something. The pork chop breakfast is delish. 2 decent size chops, well-breaded and fried.
The stand-out dish though are the crazymazing Home Fries. Iâd marry them if they werenât a vegetable. đ Iâm normally very good at detecting flavors but I canât figure out what this m@th$%#ÂŁin spice mixture is, other than salt and pepper. Trust me, just getâem.
Overall, this being summer 2023, I found the menu prices to be VERY reasonable. There are multiple sides which are only $1.50-$3 each. Not $7 and up like many places.
Service was smiling and friendly.
My only word of caution is, âDonât come hungry or hangryâ. It took my order (Saturday at 1pm) almost a whole HOUR to be served. I had full view of the kitchen and no one was slacking. They were that busy including with many large to-go orders. Suggestion: Maybe donât accept to go orders during your busiest hours? Make them work for their food like the rest of us did, getting up, getting dressed and driving over. Why should we suffer because theyâre lazy?
Honestly, the long wait is the only thing which will keep me from making Talâs my regular breakfast joint. No in and out here. Almost 3 hours including the drive round-trip (and Iâm not that far away) is a major time investment.
But Iâll be back for sure. Whenever I have those...
