Iâve lived in Playa del Rey for the last few years, and for some reason Iâve never gone in to Tannerâs before. Now I know why. Itâs Sunday at 4:20pm and my husband and I decided to go to Tannerâs just to get a coffee, to goâŠI checked online in advance and we noticed on Google it says they close at 5pm. Whew, still have 30 minutes. We parked and went to walk inside⊠Before we could even walk in the door, an employee came outside and said they were closed and not helping any customers. I glanced at the sign on the door and it says on Sunday they close at 5pm⊠Just like it says on Google. I looked at my phone, 4:34pm. Regardless, we were not invited in to order, had a very unwelcoming experience and we will continue taking our business across the street to Cafe Milan⊠A local business that doesnât turn away locals⊠Disappointed really, as we get coffee and smoothies locally multiple times/week and our extended family also...
Read moreLaidback coffee shop in Playa thatâs good for a post-surf sesh. Came here on a Saturday morning around 9:30am and there was a short line, but it moved quickly. Indoor/outdoor seating is available. Thereâs a parking lot on the side with paid parking, but if youâre there for a quick stop, there is a row of spots for ~20 min free parking. Credit cards accepted.

They do have food available (I.e, bagels, pastries, etc) as well as smoothies. The acai one is thick and well-blended. Overall, itâs a relatively quick...

The venue was okay-ish, though probably more like neighborhood coffee vibe than recently hyped aesthetic ones.
The barista was so nice and friendly, which was probably my highlight from this place. The Caramel Latte I went for was okay, but wouldn't call it stand out. They did have multiple non-dairy substitutes available and some munchies to grab with...
