
I loved the sha bang shrimp. It was so good, I'm salivating while writing this review thinking about it. The shrimp had so much flavour and was cooked to perfection. The sweet corn had soaked up all the flavour from the sha-bang sauce and it was simply delicious. I was thrilled to try this as we don't have a lot of restaurants like this in Vancouver.
The reasons for the bad review: 1.The dungeness crab(frozen). The meat was old and dry. It tasted really bad. And the meat did give out an off putting odor. This could have been a one off situation, however considering the fact that we spent $57 for 2lb, I think it's worth mentioning here. I was really looking forward to trying the crab. Sadly it just went to waste.
In my initial assessment, I awarded the restaurant four stars. However, I observed that the business owner promptly responded to my review with a defensive remark. It appears that the owner may not have thoroughly reviewed the feedback, as my experience pertained to a take-out order. In the owner's response, there was a defense of serving subpar produce, suggesting that the responsibility rested on me to communicate this to the server which I would have done if I dined at the restaurant.
I believe a more constructive dialogue would be beneficial for addressing such concerns in a professional manner and also to read the content of the reviews the business receives. By providing feedback, I aim to emphasize the sincerity of my opinions rather than seeking a refund or complimentary meal. I go pick up or#er and she opens bag one box inside only calamari and the aforementioned sauces. The calamari was cold rubbery and the oysters no where to be found. She calls tells the order taker the situation and is told let me place you on a brief hold to look for the order. She started with I ordered for pickup and when she got home what was inside. So on hold another person says you have to take the problematic order up with postmates since you ordered through them so she says 0k so on hold through postmates wait time is 59 minutes 15 minutes goes by the wait time is 58 minutes. So she writes an email to postmates and calls the boiling crab back says g the new news so she got a 20 credit for in restaurant dining or take out directly she said nasty and besides the oysters were 25.00 But considering the handful of calamari for 10.00 that wasn't Krispy in flaky batter probably best the oysters were not included. Sorry honey your favorite appetizer was lackluster and you had to ca to check website saying the merchant is responsible for filling the order well obviously its as if a receptionist Cas for a boss to do a company lunch is it the receptionist that would be held responsible of course in the bosses eyes but no. Read moreI recently visited this restaurant to celebrate my nephew's birthday with my family. Unfortunately, our server Ashley, who is Asian (I mention her race/ethnicity in case there are other Ashley’s), was extremely unfriendly and neglectful throughout our meal.
From the moment she approached our table, she seemed disinterested and irritated. She barely made eye contact with us and answered our questions curtly, without any warmth or friendliness. It felt like she didn't want to be there at all.
Throughout our meal, the service was very slow and inattentive. We had to flag Ashley and other workers down multiple times to get refills, request more napkins, and ask for the bill. It seemed like she was avoiding our table as much as possible.
Even though the food was decent, the poor service really put a damper on our celebration. We ended up leaving a 20% tip because we felt sorry for Ashley and her apparent unhappiness. But the experience was very disappointing overall.
I would not recommend this restaurant based on the service we received from Ashley. A server's attitude and attentiveness can really make or break a dining experience, and she missed the mark completely. I hope management addresses this issue with their staff to provide a better experience for...
