I have been going here since the original lim's healthnut in the early 80s. The owners worked there , the husband working in the front selling vitamins, the wives in the back making the best salads, sandwiches, and the dressing , the salad dressing was so fresh and great ! for this simple salad called the deluxe, in 2 sizes at the time .. the past few years it has changed. The dressing is not the same, it comes in a bottle now that you can buy. It does not taste the same as it did when they made it fresh. they don't cut fresh tomatoes like they use to, they throw in tomatoe balls, and, the bread falls apart when you bite into your sandwich, mine fell apart before it got to my mouth. The potions are very small, especially when there is only have a few ingredients , and prices are high, but that's the normal living in the area. I hear they took on a partner, and it changed to make into a bigger business. I'm so happy for the family that someone helped further this small little gem that turned into restaurant, but I won't be going back anymore, my sister and i have given it a few years hoping it would get better, its not the same. We still have follow my heart restaurant in canoga park thats...
Read moreSo confused by this place…. It was cute and clean inside, good kombucha-like beverages (no soda). Food: my mouth watered reading the menu, I was so overwhelmed by all of the perfect sounding options. I finally settled for the Tuna Avocado sandwich because…. My 2 fav things, duh! Paid $11, which I found to be reasonable.
And then I got my sandwich that was literally equivalent to a bagged school lunch. The wheat bread was soft (like a good soft) as it wasn’t toasted, the tuna was from a can, and it just wasn’t it. It wasn’t bad! It was ok at best. I don’t go to restaurants for ok. Especially on purpose. I am still shocked.
I guess the salads (and shaking the salads) are why people go, so maybe I’ll try a salad next time, but wow. I should have saved myself a trip and made my own sandwich. Moral of the story: Stick to the...
Read moreI ordered the Cobb salad w no bacon, add avocado, and the dressing tossed w the salad, to go, as I live very close to the restaurant location. The salad and a small lemonade totaled just over $26. I was very surprised when I got home and took the salad bowl out of the bag, and opened the lid. It was a big pile of lettuce in the bowl, and all the chicken and fixings clumped together w the dressing on one side of the bowl. The lettuce was dry w no dressing tossed on it. Whoever made the salad literally took no care in preparing the salad. You'd think that for a $20+ salad, they would actually take some care and pride in preparing it.
This was my second visit to this location, and while my first visit was "okay," this visit was extremely disappointing after spending $26! I will not go back a third time, nor would I...
