PROS: Absolutely loved the price, location, initial check in process, check out process, bed was comfortable, firm, but not too hard. Pillows were plentiful and one for everyone’s taste. The room was beautiful and appeared very clean. Engineering was fairly quick on a holiday, 7/4/24, at 4 pm, to respond to an over flowing toilet. Having a sign to leave on your door when you want a cleaning service or when you do not want to be disturbed was a nice touch. Having the front desk ask for permission to enter when we would not be there was very professional. SUGGESTIONS: from reading the other reviews I knew to book the Premium King Room, on the upper floor, and to ask for a room away from the highway. I would strongly suggest doing the same. When we were in the parking garage, the noise from the highway was significant. From the pool, we heard no highway noise. From room 303, there was zero noise from the highway or street. CONS: NOISE, No hotel can really control the noise level of the other rooms, or the traffic noise in the halls, screaming or running children down the halls, or barking dogs. These noises were over quickly usually and did not ruin our stay. However, at 6:55 am on 7/4/24, the entire cleaning crew showed up outside our door to carry on conversations for what felt like an hour, banging what sounded like pots and pans with loud noises, loading up the carts for the day. I didn’t see a maids closet near our room, but it was apparent it must be another room nearby being used as storage. Clankity clank clank. That was the only morning it was that early, that loud, and that bad. Most mornings it started around 7-715 and only lasted about 30 minutes. There were usually only a couple of people having conversations after the first day. TOWELS: we started with 2 on 7/3. On 7/4 they cleaned the room and we still had 2. On 7/4 the toilet over flowed and we used all the towels to stop the water. After engineering fixed the toilet, we again phoned the front desk to get fresh towels. They had someone bring fresh towels up about an hour later. On 7/5 housekeeping came, but this time they took all the dirty towels that were hanging to dry, and left us only 2 hand towels and 2 wash cloths. On 7/5 we phoned the front desk about 4 to ask for bath towels and were told they would have housekeeping bring some up. At 5 we stopped by the front desk as we left for dinner and reminded them we still did not have any bath towels. She said she would have them delivered to her, then she would personally run them to our room. At 8 pm we returned back from dinner to find no towels. We checked at the pool and there were none there either. Later, after we were already in bed, after 10 pm, housekeeping knocked at the door. I asked them to leave them outside the door and I would grab them. 5 min later when I went for them, there were no towels to be found. 7/6 again I left the note to clean the room, called down for towels, returned to have no towels. Ditto 7/7 again, had room cleaned, called for towels, checked the pool, no towels. Went in person to the front desk on 7/7 as we were going to use the pool and asked for pool towels. They would have towels sent to the pool asap, and to out room also. About thirty minutes later someone brought towels out and laid them down where other guests had placed their stuff before joining me in the pool. Only two pool towels were dropped, with now five guests in the pool. I grabbed one to share and left them one to share. (The other guests had no bath towels for days as well). So score, four days later we had a drench pool towel we could use! No bath towels had made it to our room. Again as we left for dinner on 7/7 we asked for towels again. Finally on 7/8, I left the sign for the room to be cleaned. To our surprise, the pool towel was gone, but we had two bath towels! We didn’t have any more room cleaning, and we still had two bath towels when we checked out 7/10. ELEVATOR was out of service 72 hours of our 8 days, 7 night stay. BREAKFAST/COFFEE we only saw it open early on Saturday.

I am about to check out from the the Anza hotel, and I have nothing but positive things to say about it. The staff, from housekeeping to the cafe, was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The open seating area was a delightful space, providing a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The rooms were impressively spacious and well-designed, with a variety of amenities including a couch and a table. In terms of the room, I love the room, but I do have an issue with how much space they have between the floor and the door. There’s about an inch to a half an inch of available space, and it lets in all of the light from the hallway. So even if you have or want to have a pitch black room that in itself, makes it impossible. Aside from that, because of that space, you can hear everything that goes on outside. You can hear every door that closes every door that locks and everybody that walks by if they’re not being quiet. They also have a joining rooms, so unfortunately, that means that you may hear the noise, like I did, of the people that are next to you. Luckily, I only heard a noise one of the nights that I was there, I also just so happen to be staying on a weekday versus a weekend. Another minor issue I encountered during my stay was with the shower doors in the room. This would prevent me from staying here in the future because it seems to be a new theme at a lot of different places. The hotel opted for half door instead of full shower doors which left me cold while showering. While it didn't impact the overall experience significantly, I personally find shower doors to be more preferable as they prevent the floor from becoming slippery and wet, and they provide a better showering experience without the interference of a breeze. Aside from this small issue, the overall cleanliness of the building was spectacular, and the pool, although small, was well-maintained and clean. Since it's not summer, there weren't many people using the pool during my visit. However, I found the room experience to be the highlight. The space and thoughtful design impressed me. One great perk was the complimentary breakfast at the on-site cafe/coffee shop, which I believe was included with the room. The affordability of the Anza hotel compared to other options was also a major plus. They do charge $15 for overnight parking, but alternatively, you can park for free on the street for up to two hours between 7 am and 6 pm. All in all, I had an great experience at the Anza hotel. I truly wish there were more hotels like this one, in more locations at this rate. Oh, it’s also close to so many things. You don’t even really have to go far to find what you need.

I’ve seen a lot in my travels, but this sets a new low. The Anza Hotel – a so-called 4-star property that knows neither class nor quality. If you book a room here, you’re not booking accommodation – you’re booking ignorance and deception. Here are the facts, and yes, they are as damning as they sound: • Fresh air? Not here. Windows that don’t open, a broken air conditioning system – my room was a suffocating nightmare. I paid for comfort, not headaches. • Room condition? Miserable. Broken furniture, worn-out fixtures, and an overall appearance that barely qualifies for a 2-star motel. Photos attached show just how bad it was. • Service? Non-existent. Room service here means: do it yourself. And don’t expect any support. I tried contacting the front desk multiple times – no one answered. I was left completely on my own. • Pure deception: I booked this room because the images on your website showed a proper desk. As a business traveler, I need a workspace. What I got instead was a round dining table, which is a disaster for my back. The explanation? “The photos are outdated.” Translation: deliberate misrepresentation. As a manager of international artists performing around the globe, I travel frequently and depend on an environment that allows me to work efficiently and host guests professionally. In this case, not only was it impossible to get my work done properly, but I couldn’t even consider inviting guests into a room in such poor condition. And the best part? When I reported these issues immediately to Booking.com, I was referred to the hotel. And what did the hotel management do? Absolutely nothing. No response to my email. No call. No apology. It’s one thing to make mistakes. Ignoring a guest’s concerns entirely? That’s unprofessional, irresponsible, and outright disrespectful. I ended my stay early and moved to another hotel – one that actually understands what service means. For anyone considering staying here: don’t. Unless you enjoy deception, ignorance, and complete incompetence. The Anza Hotel didn’t just waste my time – it destroyed any hope of a pleasant experience. In my line of work, we call that “losing the client.” And believe me, you’ve lost this one. Forever.

We have stayed here multiple times over the last 4 years as our son attended college nearby. What started as a pleasant place to stay has gone downhill despite the renovations. We stayed 3 separate weekends over the last two months and each time we spent the extra money to have a room with a Peloton bike. |Stay #1 - Mid March - We arrived early and called the hotel to see if we could check in early. They told us it wasn't ready but they would call. No call. Check-in time is 4:00. We arrived at 4:30 and our room was still not ready. We were able to get into our room about 5:30, knowing we had been waiting around. The Peloton was a problem as the knob adjusting the seat was broken. We contacted the front desk and were assured an "engineer" would take care of it. After requesting assistance 2 more times, it was never addressed. The front desk apologized but said they couldn't refund the extra money because only a manager could. We emailed a manager and after several emails, he disappeared and his email no longer existed. |Stay #2 - The beginning of April stay resulted in another broken Peloton and a toilet that wouldn't flush. We retrieved a plunger and were forced to plunge our own toilet throughout the weekend. An "engineer" never showed up to look at the toilet. |Stay #3 4/28-5/1 resulted in the 3rd broken Peloton which had a seat that wouldn't lock into place which was reported. Once our flight arrived at 1:00 we reached out to see if we could check in early. We were informed they were in the middle of a photoshoot and couldn't check the computer. They would call us back in 15 minutes. NO PHONE CALL. | When we called an hour later no one even answered the phone! Do these people really want business? Our relatives that were in town for college graduation had it way worse with NO A/C in their room! Yes, they were told an "engineer" would take a look at it on 4/28 but no one showed and there were no extra rooms to move to. On 4/29 they reported the problem again to the front desk and again were told the same "an engineer will come to check it out". Still nothing. They suffered in a room that was 77 degrees for two nights. Upon checkout, they were offered compensation for their parking because of the problem. Uh, excuse me? Paying full price for a room with no A/C? Is this for real? They persisted and were then offered $20 off their room per night. Does this make sense? Finally, they were given a 20% discount. Still not acceptable in my opinion. |While the hotel is in the process of having some nice remodels made and is in a great location with convenient shopping and restaurants, we won't be back in the future. They are obviously not concerned with the comfort of guests, the quality of rooms, or customer service. An utter disappointment! Take your...
