The Family — Restaurant in Los Angeles

This place is a little pricey and quit small it's a corner triangle lot spot, but if you are ever in the los Angeles area and you love authentic down home grandma's southern cooking u would do yourself a great diservice if you don't seek this place,it's a latin / soul place without compromise. The staff is top tier nice the food is plentiful when I say plentiful I mean grandma shared out the plate. I had the chitterlings very clean and flavorful one of the most expensive items on the menu, I totally understand why having cleaned and cooked them myself. I also ordered the liver and onions with collards and corn and okra my husband ordered fried pork chop yams and Mac and cheese and a side of short ribs people the short rib was so tender and massive the pork chops seasoned to perfection and they give you a side of gravy, last but definitely not least you get Jonny cakes with each order( cornbread that looks like pancakes 🥞) and rice comes standard. They always doing something funny to my food and they awlays give me steak pieces with a gang of fat on them or they overflow my plate with gravy and give me little meat im black man i try belive people are not discriminating on me but it's very hard when it's plain to see. Look at the rice I can't even see the rice I believe they do things on purpose food isn't that great it's good but they should be grateful that we even participate and try to give people what they order I think I'm going to file a complaint with the city about them because I need to talk to the owner of that establishment for they can understand how I feel I can't even eat it it's too much oil gravy in the plate look at it who's going to eat that are they mad at me have I done something soothing smh and the funny thing about it is this that black man that showed him how to cook the food how to make the food if I would give him this plate I'm for sure he will be a shame that he he never gave an opportunity for...

This is my favorite go-to restaurant. It is small and can be easily overlooked or underrated. If you actually go to the eating-place, eat the delicious food, and see the hard workers... you will put this restaurant at the top of your places to eat list. The little restaurant is conveniently located near the Harbor Freeway, they sell a large variety of food... All that I've tasted is very delicious, you receive a large amount of food. The price is probably like other restaurants but you receive so much more when you think about the location, the taste of the food the niceness of the people that work there and the amount of food. The hours are long. They start serving dinner at approximately 8:30 a.m. . I make it a point to stop by early and save my food for later. They remain open until 9 p.m. Their food is prepared fresh.
