If you don't have allergies, probably 5 stars. However, we've had bad experiences ordering to-go in person, over the phone, and online because they don't pay attention to allergy notes. It should be easy- I can have fish, rice, and nori, so plain sushi/sashimi and cut rolls are fine! First time, they remade the roll and we enjoyed our food. The second time we ordered from Toyo (again specifying no soy/ponzu sauce on the sushi) it was over the phone and we didn't see anything wrong at first- got to our destination and discovered that my rolls and sushi (packaged together) were saturated in sauce even after telling them it was a severe allergy. Had to throw it away because I couldn't find anyone who wanted to take it, and I had no dinner that evening. Last night ordered online, added this note to the mackerel: "No soy sauce no ponzu sauce no lemons on the mackerel please! Allergy" The mackerel came with lemon slices, and when it was pointed out, they remade it AND PUT SAUCE ON IT, which we didn't see until we were on the way to our destination. Luckily the other member of my party was willing/able to have the mackerel, otherwise it would have been wasted like the last order. We thought Toyo Sushi would be a great place to order from when traveling to events, but based on these experiences I no longer feel safe ordering...

Read more110p Sunday. Ordered two dishes. Ate the little edamame they provided quickly, nobody ever came back for the next 27 minutes to refill drinks or edamame. Got the sushi plate, then another two minutes to get the second salmon roll. Friend from Osaka and had worked the seafood department preparing fish at the supermarket. Both of us agree - fills you up, nothing fishy or bad, but nothing inspiring, memorable, or tasty enough to bring us back. Oomasa, Kitayama or other traditional sushi restaurants taste better. Japanese friend noted some of the fish had a texture as if they had too much water in them - defrosted or not super fresh. She didn't like the ginger either - lower grade with sugary taste. I prefer the sushi rolls at Niko Niko in Costa Mesa, but nothing bad with the rolls here. Small rice portions with small fish portions here on the sushi; standard size rolls. Overall $35~ for two plates. Normally a 4 star for a sushi roll restaurant for price + ok taste, but 3 star for slow 27+ minute delivery of a single plate of sushi + no service...
