This location of Waba Grill was good. It was convenient to go to on our way to Raleigh Studios for a screening last night, plus I had coupons for Waba Grill from my Entertainment Book. We were there early enough, around 5pm, so we didn't have trouble finding parking in front of their store, at all. The young guy, Erick, who took our order and money was very quiet and sweet, but seemed unsure of himself and everything. I assumed that he was new. Our orders were perfect, perfectly hot, & ready in a timely manner. It wasn't instantaneous, but in that way, you know that it's fresh, & not just sitting around in warmers. It's just a very brief wait, which was fine. The food is really good. I had a Chicken Bowl, one friend had a steak plate, & the other had a Veggie Bowl. We all opted for the brown rice, which is great to have that option. One of my friends pointed out how fluffy the brown rice was, which she said is not always easy to achieve at home. It's great to be able to go to a place that has all those healthy choices for us, especially for the friend who is a Vegetarian. The only complaint we had was how cold it was to sit and eat in there. It felt like like you could hang meat in there, by how cold the air conditioning made it feel. They don't need to have the air cranked up that much on a somewhat cool evening. It had been warm during the day, but they need to adjust the temp for the evening. With all the traffic going South on Western Ave., I felt it would be too much of a challenge to go back out in those Southbound lanes, just to turn right soon on Melrose, so I chose to go around the block East of the restaurant, and come out on Melrose....
Read moreStaff is nice, courteous, and patient, even if you order last minute right before closing, they still maintain a level of professionalism, patience, & happiness to serve. There’s no rushed feeling, at least as of this date. The food is fresh, the facility is clean, & the bathroom is inviting. My only hang up is the ongoing baseball game that we’re forced to watch when dining in. Such a big, beautiful, clear, crisp television they have, but to me news is often more important than a pre-recorded game, esp in this era. I understand it’s a game that {almost} everyone enjoys, but can we at least have some ONGOING news like CNN, or some other ongoing cable news station? Sometimes when dining, I’d like to know what’s going on around me locally as well as the world & I could really care less who’s on first, who’s stealing second, who is winning, or who’s losing. It will be nice to leave with a full stomach AND a full insight of news updates....
Read moreFood is good as all the other stores belonging to this chain restaurant. Although, there are certain differences... this particular branch is not to well managed in my personal opinion... maybe that explains the lack of customers during lunch time (just two tables are occupied out of a dozen). What type of clients do you have to have in order to put a tacky sign next to the beverage station that reads “only one refill by customer” really? There is no iced tea nor lemonade which is standard on 99.9% of restaurants... so again, what type of clients you get here? I like Waba grill food but this specific branch you can tell is very specifically run to fit their specific clientele. ... and you are forcing me to leave you a tip at the register already? Im fine leaving tips on fast food restaurants, I’ll do it all the time, but your style of treating your customer subliminally makes me go to the next waba grill one mile...
