I knew I was going to be leaving a review as soon as they handed me my bag. A $16 sandwich plus tax and tip was $20 and felt like they handed me a bag full of air. I opened as soon as I got to my car and couldn't believe I just drove across town, waited 25 min and paid $20 for this. I knew I was going to have to stop somewhere else to get food for dinner after I eat my chicken parm "snack", it is barely a meal. One should never be hungry and annoyed after making a trip to go get dinner. I grew up in Queens NY and have had more chicken cutlet Parm sandwiches than I can remember. I was really excited to try this place after all the hype. This is not the place to go and sadly is not worth the money, time or effort. Ordered online and they told me 25 min to pick up. After finding a meter in the rain and walking over 5 min early figuring I'd get it while it was hot, but my little sandwich had been sitting there in paper on a cold counter for a good amount of time as it was luke warm. They put it on a cardboard appetizer type tray, inside of a cardboard box, inside of a huge paper bag with handles, wasting paper and killing trees like they are going out of style. One piece of foil would have been better for the trees and for customer service. Its one little sandwich do we been to take down a whole forest to serve a cold hot sand Okay but was it tasty? Ehh.. it was just okay. The cutlet was good but I didn't like the hard seeded bread at all. Honestly, I've had so many better sandwiches in LA. Id go just about anywhere including Jersey Mike's before this place again. If this is the best Ggiata can do Id rather support the chain restaurant, at least they have foil and I don't need two sandwiches...
Read moreMy husband is a deli guy. Being from New Jersey, deli's are the way to go, especially for lunch.
We were headed on a 5-hour road trip and decided to pickup some sammy's for the long drive. Never easy since my husband and I are so specific about our food, even sandwiches...
I lean toward fresh, flavorful and talented sandwich crafters. My brother lives in LA and said "go to Ggiata you won't be disappointed" and my brother knows knows how picky I can be...
It started with checking out the website which is very well done and beautiful esthetically especially for a deli, the site had ambiance and was a great ordering tool featuring real pictures which made it difficult to choose a sandwich with so many delicious looking options. I liked that everything on the website menu was broken down by separate categories, cold or hot sandwiches, sides, drinks etc. Made it really easy to order.
I called in the order at busy lunch time and received fabulous phone service, a friendly voice and super helpful... because I always have questions..
I'm big on packaging and branding, this small family owned deli put the effort into the experience of having a Ggiata style lunch, they delivered a beautifully branded sandwich to go, wrapped perfectly, filled with a fresh, flavorful & delicious sandwich.
Their sandwiches are Xtra large making them worth the price. I never mind spending extra when it's worth it and Ggiata's is worth every cent!
Thank you for a fabulous lunch experience, keep up the good work and please come to NorCal we need a...
Read moreSo I decided to call in a small order since i live down the street. I called, placed my order and was told it would be ready in 10 minutes. I came in to pick up my order CASH in hand! Mind you, nobody told me on the phone it was a preferred payment method. I walk in, tell the cashier my order and she tells me. Ggiata doesn't accept cash. Only card. When i tell you i was Pissed! I didn't want to use my card i almost walked out because why wasn't this told to me over the phone? This is a crucial piece of information! Especially for customers doing pickup orders! Ggiata: The same business i walk pass everyday and decided to give a try & this was my experience! I have constructive criticism for this place. If you take Card only inform your customers! I was also told that "we have been doing this since the pandemic & we assumed everyone knew"? Why would you assume that? You would think as a business... you would know that NEW customers call daily and they would need to know cash is not accepted! SMH EXTREMELY disappointed in my experience here. I called & spoke to the manager but this bothered me so much i have to put it here.
P.S: Put a sign on the front window if you do not accept cash!! Not good business etiquette don't assume everyone knows your policy! This is California !! People carry cash, card, zelle, apple pay! Inform your guest of your NO CASH...
