Do not go there unless you are Hispanic they will not treat you proper. You can definitely feel the division there. And it is completely inappropriate that they create such a racial division. You may call it “racism.” As a local to Mar Vista of 5 years - I write this review. It is a waste of time, energy, or money to go there. The bakery at the Pavilions in Marina Del Rey has AMAZING donuts if you are looking for quality donuts. This Yum Yum Donuts has failed me on multiple occasions, both on personal occurrences and work related! Not all Caucasians are racist. But it is really messed up that they treat you like you don’t even belong in your own neighborhood. Especially when I was just there trying to work myself. Doing some food deliveries in the middle of the night. It is unacceptable!! I How to experience racism from a few Latina lead businesses in the community. And it is unacceptable as I do not practice racism against others they should understand that not all people are the same, not all Caucasian people have taken apart in racism and our society and not all of us support what is happening in our society. In fact, we are all people. I hope that someone educates them about being racist towards members of the community or being racist in general is not OK.
I been having to work for Uber eats as a supplemental job in the process of working about five jobs to supplement since I had to close my business for almost 2 years during COVID-19 and move it three times, and then after finding a new location had to shut down also during the Palisades fire due to safety and evacuation concerns. Thus, on Friday night instead of getting to go out like everybody else I was scrambling to complete some food deliveries. What should be a very simple delivery of a box of donuts became very complicated due to the staff at the Yum Yum donuts. The staff Member kept acting like she didn’t speak English, although I of course, go to businesses all over Los Angeles with Hispanic employees and 90% of them never act like this! She refused to fulfill the order, and kept on saying that they didn’t have the donuts that were needed. I kept on telling her that I was on a delivery and that she would need to communicate that on her end, and she just kept on staring at me for several minutes. I Have been dispatched on a second order and what she didn’t realize is that it was not only inconveniencing me, but also the customer who had ordered, along with the other customer, waiting on the second delivery. So she was inconveniencing at least three people by her unprofessionalism. I had to reach for support through the app. Which unfortunately is ran by a bot. The bot told me to proceed with the delivery, even though some of the items were not available. I Even speak some Spanish. But she was being very unhelpful, even when I was speaking some Spanish to her. There was another associate there, and he was being equally as unhelpful. I had to beg them to fulfill the Uber Eats Order!! Finally, She threw a few donuts in a box and handed it over to me. They have wasted so much of my time that I was reprimanded on the Uber eats app, I was removed from the second order and lost income over it, and it also affected my stats for accountability. How terrible of her!
About 6 months ago, I was craving donuts and I walked over there to treat myself. I was skeptical about the freshness of the donut holes and even commented on it. The Associate assured me, the donuts were fresh. However, when I got home, the donuts were soggy in the bottom of the bag. They actually a couple of them tasted like they were in the process of going rotten. It was disgusting. Even When I have gotten donuts that are Fresh there, they are not really that good, especially when you compare them to something like the donuts at the Pavillions for the exact same cost! DK Donut in Santa Monica is LEGIT as well. The donut holes were gross enough that I almost flinch when I think that I ate that! Shame on them for serving me, rotten donut holes, and making me pay...
Read moreI went in for lunch today with my friend. He doesn't speak Spanish much but he tried to place his order using his knowledge as most of the employees working there today did not speak English. When we went up to the counter to pay, one of the women who was ringing the order repeated the items back to us and said that his sandwich was a ham and cheese when he had ordered a turkey and cheese sandwich. I intervened to correct them and one of the women told me to be quiet. She said ham and turkey are the same thing. I said that is not true and told them about the incident we had the week before when my friend ordered the exact same thing he ordered today and he got a ham sandwich instead of turkey. She started arguing with me and then rudely said, if I prove to you that it is turkey, will you pay double the amount for the sandwich? I think part of the reason why she spoke to me the way she did is because I have a disability. People think they can take advantage of that fact and do not take up well when someone whom they consider inferior speaks up for themselves. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this place. I will not give my business to a place that this respects people in...
Read moreI have been here every time that I am in Los Angeles for work. This location is excellent. The staff is always very friendly. Yesterday, I visited the store and I was greeted by a welcoming employee named “Fer”… Fer was awesome, and made the perfect recommendations that I was looking for but I did not know what to order. Fer recommended the “green juice” and the selection was right! At the same time, I did not what bagel to order, and Fer very enthusiastic offered me the “Veggie Bagel”… another hit by Fer!!!
Today, I went again, since I am caring for someone that came out of surgery. I offered to take her there for the “green juice” because it is fresh, made daily. At my arrival, Fer already had all the items that I would be ordering… I was very impressed by Fer. This employee is a great asset to this Company and I hope the manager/owner of this location takes the time to praise and recognize Fer… I will be coming tomorrow and I know that Fer would be taking care of my friend and me…...
