Espanas Southwest Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Los Banos

I went out with a group of my colleagues for dinner and drinks. The food and drinks were very good. Our first server was not too great. She was rushing us to order, and she kept dropping hints that her shift was almost over. We asked her if she could turn off the misters because our table was getting soaked and the water was dripping into our drinks. She told us she could turn them off but once they were off she wasn't going to be able to turn them back on, we said that was fine because the sun was low and it was getting the evening was getting cooler. She took our drink orders and served them. She never turned off the misters. We didn't see her after that, and it took about 40 minutes for someone to come check on us at this point. No one has still taken our food order. During this time, the restaurant was relatively empty. It took over an hour for someone to finally come over and take our food order. Shalada came over, took our food order, and served our table the rest of the night. She also turned off the misters as she noticed our table was completely soaked. The worst service I've ever had here! Tip for you server, choose another career! Ive been coming to Espana's for 32 years, and never have I been treated like I was today. Started when we sat down, server was not very friendly she seemed put off by serving me and 5 other's. Then I threw the bomb and told her 2 other people were coming. She proceeded to bark out with a party of 8 or more there is an automatic 18% Tip and only one check for the table. No room at our table so the 2 people that came in had to sit at another table. The server kept on about the 2 people at ANOTHER table. I told her they weren't at our table, server said "but I know there with you" if we were able to move the two tables together it would have been fine. But we all know that is against Espana's law! Called the manager. She was preaching the same sermon so we just left. Went to Chili's, great meal, and most of all GREAT SERVICE! TAKE A LESSON ESPANA'S. Quality of the food here does not match the prices. Food seems microwaved/reheated and veggies from a can. It's a hot spot for drinking in this town so it gets loud and super busy... for my family and I, it caused us to get poor/slow service. We overheard our waiter make a gross comment at a child in the next table over who ordered a hamburger with meat only, she said "I'd like to get some meat in my buns" so inappropriate but the whole family laughed at it too 😒... Our plates would come out much later than each other, and to top it off we got an undercooked steak. We told our waiter, she looked at it and agreed but by the time she got back to us they were all out of steaks that night so she only offered cooking it more or exchanging the plate for something of equal value. It was poor handling of the situation and overall terrible experience. I don't recommend this place to anyone and don't understand the hype.
