After much anticipation, my husband and I went there at 2 in the afternoon thinking we could get in and out quickly. That was not to be. Four other parties came in at the same time. As we waited for our food, we looked around. The artwork was nice even though it was not typical for a Mexican restaurant. We watched as a lady came in to inquire about a job. We watched as the employees made fun of her after she left. We watched as the cook prepared one ticket at a time. Twenty-five minutes later we got our food. The food was obviously made fresh to order as everything fried was overly brown and dripping in grease. My husband ordered the flautas. The chicken was dry and tough. I ordered the Mexican platter. I was happy to see that they used cheddar cheese instead of American cheese as most restaurants in the area tend to use. The ground beef was seasoned nicely, but it was saturated in grease. By the time I got to my tostada, it was soggy from both the ground beef and the grease from frying the tostada. Yuck! The refried beans had no flavor, nor did the rice which was a simple yellow rice cooked in chicken broth. This place is truly authentic, however they need to understand hospitality in the front of the house. I mean, we didn't like that we were not greeted. Actually I was pretty confused walking in. There are no signs saying "seat your self" or "wait to be seated." No hostess. I had to go up to the register to ask about a table. Which had no napkins or hot sauce? Huh. We waited 15 minutes for drink and it wasn't busy.
Sitting down were surrounded by boxes for supply stocking. It kinda ruined the atmosphere, next to the bar.
We waited forever to get our check, again I had to seek the server. I actually had to go up front 4 times because she had us waiting so long to "check in" on us . The service needs more training on etiquette. For example, it rude to bring out someone's plate if their guest food isn't ready. I felt embarrassed eating for 10 minutes while my company waited.
It took so long to get my ticket paid my friend had time to smoke a whole cigarette. There were only 2 other tables on a rainy Wednesday. Well the BOH...

I wait there for about 10min...no one acknowledged that I was there clearly waiting to get served. A lady walked in behind me. The lady at the register moves from behind the. Counter & tells her welcome then heads to a table in the back. So im like wth ..the girl behind me asks if I ordered and I said yes. I called in, im here to pick up. She said ok I need to order.. Finally the girl that was sitting chillen gets up on the register and asks if any one needs help......well yea I did like 10 min ago..l made eye contact with you. But the girl behind me tries to order, im like wait up. Im here to get my order..got it. I head home knowing I should check it, but I'm so annoyed. At this point.
