We've always enjoyed coming here. Until tonight. The hostess was having issues seating us, we were only ones in line. She slowly cleaned a table, then said ohhhh lemme put you here instead. But had to clean that table It was still wet, so now my pants and sleeves were too. Ok. Fine. I ordered the house pinot grigio, or so I thought. More on that in a minute. Ordered stuffed mushrooms for app. Waiting on food we asked for more dipping oil and bread. Nevvverrrr got it. Ever. Get our app, promptly followed by our salad. Awkward. They could've waited a few minutes in between. And seriously, 4 mushrooms for that price?? Skip that app! Then a long wait for our food. My pollo rosa marie was delicious except the prosciutto was practically non existent. I could barely see yet taste it. For $20 I expect to at least taste it@ My husband enjoyed his dinner, thank goodness. Now, to the wine. I specifically said, house pinot grigio. If you don't have one, tell me. Instead she served me the most expensive, $14 a glass!!! I had two. So $28 for 2 glasses when I was expecting about $8 a glass was quite a shock. When I brought it to her attention and that I was not happy with being charged for the most expensive when I asked for the house, she simply said oh, sorry. She took $5 off. Wow, ok, now it's only $11.50 glass. Not ok! If you're going to scam people like this I don't care to go back. She should've told me she was going to serve me the premium wine instead of "house" or inform me of the prices , heck even point out on menu (which I hadn't looked at yet) what the options were. Instead she chose to upsell without my consent. To me that's horrible business practices and I don't care to be taken...
Read moreI'll be honest, it wasn't the best of situations....I walked in with a group of 11 with about 10 mins before close.(Honestly we thought they close@11pm) The hostess was graceful & polite, and the waiter was polite but rushed. All of which, I genuinely understand. However, AFTER being informed by the kitchen manager that we needed to hurry and order, which we did, there was a decidedly negative attitude from the bar staff,(we ordered 1 round of drinks for 4 people). The excessive reminder of the fact that we were holding them up as we confined our requests to simple quick dishes was a little disappointing as we did cooperate with the situation we had created. Most of the food was correct & quickly delivered. The Manager comped us a few drinks and two appetizers because of a miscommunication in the hurried order. All of which we are grateful for. However, given the standard of service I've recieved at this restaurant and others at this price point & record of quality of service, I was sorely disappointed in this experience. I look forward to giving it another chance, due to the all around quality I recieved previously. I hope this was a one off due to circumstances and not their new standard. .....
**The simple fact is, we expected just a little more sympathy for a small group of students celebrating their Honor Fraternity induction. We left within an hour of arrival, I personally paid for three of eleven and tipped 30%on our ticket to the kind waiter, and 6% to the patient hostess for seating and bringing us extra waters...

Carrabba’s has earned our highest recommendation: Each month Carrabba’s offers a dinner with wines matched to each course.
At the “Director’s Cut” May Wine Dinner, honoring consummate movie professional Francis Ford Coppola, all four courses --- priced at $75 per person, including the wines (so everything except tax and tip) --- were perfectly matched with wines from his winery.
When there was a mix-up about our “Director’s Cut” tab, Proprietor Anthony Chapman (Towne Center in Baton Rouge) personally solved the problem, gracefully and completely. Mr. Chapman takes great pride in his restaurant, supervises every wine dinner, and goes the extra mile to make certain everyone’s experience is superb.
Not only did we find this wine dinner delightful, but I also think I’ve found a true treasure at an extraordinary price: $75 for this one in May and $60 for the “California Cellers” dinner in June (with La Crema Sauvignon Blanc, Mark West Pinot Noir, Caymus Cabernet Suvignon, and Kendall Jackson Chardonnay).
If you like good wine and great food, we strongly suggest you give these monthly wine...
