The craz over hot donuts always amazes me. People just like fried hot dough doused in sugar. In my years experience as a donut critic, mostly all these local donut outlets are using basically the run of the mill donut dough from the same distributors. True, they might add some small change, but it still taste like all others. The fact is no one makes a better tasting doughnut than Krispy Kreme. They have a unique texture and taste created by a professional French New Orlean chef and it’s kept under lock and key. It’s not duplicated but often tried to be imitated. Test your favorite donut after leaving it out for a day- not hot. You get the true taste. Krispy Kreme stands up to the true taste test- still has their unique light, airy, and straight-up delicious taste and texture while all others taste bland and the same. The donuts by themselves are literally the best to me , especially the fresh batches . I was born and raised in gonzales and they’ve been here I would like to say just as long, but it’s not just the food I been faithfully eating here over 10 years. I’m a recovering addict and there was days I know I walked in this place looking more than unapproachable . This man has never treated me any different at my worst and at my best he has always given me the upmost respect and has always been super nice and friendly . Horrible service, when we pulled up we waited in line for 15 mins to finally get to the window. We clearly asked the lady if any of the donuts were hot specifically the chocolate or the glazed, and she said the chocolate was hot and she is an Asian lady who very clearly cannot speak fluent English and didn’t know what I even asked to respond yes which was a lie. So I got a dozen of not fresh donuts that I would not have bought if this lady could speak English fluently at all and told me the truth.
