Inside the store is clean enough to sit at the tables and eat. However, behind the counter does not look as sanitary. I did not care for my previous experience at this particular location due to the fact that I asked for sausage and chicken jambalaya and was provided with jambalaya that only consisted of chicken . This happened to me twice the first time I did not notice because I was in the drive-thru. When I brought it to the attention of the staff, all they could explain was they do not have time to mix the sausage completely through the jambalaya so that it could be distributed evenly. This is no excuse when you’re purchasing an item that is supposed to consist of chicken and sausage. I explained that I would bring this complaint to whomever it is it’s over that location. I haven’t had time to do that so I don’t recommend anyone to go to this particular location because it does not seem as though they take customer service serious enough to make sure the customer is satisfied with...
Read moreLet me just say that I love Jambalaya Shoppe; however, this was my first time eating from the Gonzales location, and it will be my last. I ordered the chicken and sausage jambalaya with a side of white beans, and it was nasty! I drove all the way home and was disappointed! The food tasted spoiled. The rice was smushy, and I had huge huge clumps of hard chicken breast. The white beans were so thick that you could tell they had been sitting a while or were days old and were reheated. I really am so disappointed with this experience. I go to the location on Siegen Ln, and I have never had a bad experience. They food has always been exceptional. I literally felt like vomiting after tasting that. The only positive thing was that the lady at the drive-thru window was really nice. She smiled and giggled, but I could not understand what she was saying. Maybe that was my...
Read moreThe wait was very long even though there was barely any one in the drive thru. After we paid, the food was up very quickly, but it was a long wait to get to that point. We ended up getting the chicken jambalaya dinner bowl which was a good amount of food for the price. Individually, the with beans(that doesn't include white rice), the jambalaya, and the potato salad were all okay, but nothing I would rave about. The rice was a bit mushy and the white beans and potato salad seemed to be missing a bit of seasoning. However, mixing all three with each bite created a great depth of interesting flavor and that's what made us happy to finish the plate. If someone else wanted to go, I'd happily order something again, but I can't say I would seek it out intentionally on...
