Went there with my husband last Saturday for breakfast. We was handed a menu to look at while the waitress filled our drink order. Coffee for me orange juice for my husband. She brought my coffee cup(no coffee) and his orange juice. After a little laugh she brought the coffee. My husband ask about the specials, because we saw a sign on our way in that had different breakfast items wrote on it. One being the cajun omelet (that is what he wanted). He ask her if it had a special price. She said the specials are normally 10 dollars. So he ordered that even though he pointed out on the menu it was 12 dollars. After ordering it he ask if it came with anything. She explained no it didn't. So he added toast. I ordered shrimp and grits it came with garlic bread. It was on the menu for like $10.99 I believe. We waited over an hour for our food. Once it arrived it was ok. Nothing spectacular but it was good. The waitress brought out the receipt and the price was $38.00 I began looking at the charges. They charged $12.00 for my grits $14.00 for my husband omelet and the remaining of the bill was coffee orange juice and let's not forget the price of the toast. Oh and taxes. So we paid $26.00 for grits a couple of eggs and sausage and one slice of garlic toast. And $12.00 for juice coffee and one piece of sunbeam sandwich bread toasted. $40.00 later we decided we won't be coming back. Let's not forget the waitress had no clue about the menu. She had told us there was two different menus The wait was way to long for breakfast. And well the prices don't hold up to the food and service. Hope your experience is...
Read moreWent to this establishment this past Saturday. Food was good, service was horrible. It took 4-5 employees 20+ minutes to figure out who was serving our table. There were only 4 or so other tables being used, so not sure why it took almost an hour to get our food. About the time we get our food, one of the waiters removes the basket of jelly, which we would need for our breakfast. The ladies bathroom was out of toilet paper too. Not sure how that happens considering we were there in the morning. Seems like that would have been checked prior to opening that day. Another oddity was how they serve. Each item you order comes on its own plate. Neat, but a waste of time, energy, an effort. As they were adding plates to our table, we were sliding the contents off to our main plate, simply for room on the table. Each person would have ended up with 3-4 plates had we not done that. I bet whoever washes the dishes hates this. I don't mind if my eggs, hashbrowns, ham, and toast are on the...
Read moreI had been meaning to try and eat here because of all the bad word of mouth that I was hearing. The food was great; it was shrimp stew. Owner attempted to show kindness by offering a free dessert as well.
The negatives though, I watched an employee walk out quitting while I was walking in to be seated, and my waitress was doing her best to keep everything rolling by picking up the slack. The owner in a passive-aggressively way was like "Just call me by my name, first name, call me it, go ahead, do it, call me by my first name" the waitress puzzled why he was asking for such an odd request, "-name-" and he smirks and smiles "Now see, that wasn't so hard."
So that is my honest review, there were good and bad critiques, I would also implore not treating your employees rough like that, but especially not embarrassing them in front of the customers. Pull them in the kitchen or the office and have an actual...
