So I was in NOLA for the week for work. I drove out of my way daily (at first 2xs a day, you're about to see why that stopped), as this is the only DD in the area.
2 am coffee was good, hot and fresh. I thought great, there's only thid one location but its good. Ready to rate 5 stars. 5:15 am next visit, on my way to work, im looking forward to my coffee (shift change=fresh coffee, plus it was good at 2 am. So daytime staff must be good too, right??). I got my first 5am coffee it was bitter as anything. Ok so this lady left the filter basket dripping the ground oils into the coffee, so maybe it won't happen again I thought. Luckily I have some hazelnut in a cup (yes, I keep some on hand lol.. for the mornings im in a rush and no time to wait to get it made right), add a little more to try to hide bitterness.
Next morning, same lady and same bitter coffee. Ok now I'm really disappointed. This day I was working closer so I was able to go during lunch. I went at 11 am. This time the inside was open, but they don't do mobile ordering for inside (minis a star). Drive thru line was out to the road. Ok im sure to get a good coffee this time, right?? Lol nooo!! Even ordering inside at 11 am, no!! Apparently the only person that has it right is the young lady who was working at 2 am (those 2 stars are all yours..if I could give just you 5 stars I would). Also, I did not get acknowledged and was the only person waiting to order. Someone finally helped me after waiting for maybe 5 minutes or so...
Also, I look down and what do I see?? The ENTIRE STAFF WAS ALL WEARING SLIDES!! I should have taken a picture I've never seen that before..wow!! Dont worry I didn't minus a star for that but maybe you'll learn when you burn your foot with hot coffee, or slip, or even stub a toe 🤣🤣🤣🤣 im just shocked as it is totally against DD policy. I wouldn't be surprised if the woman that works the drive thru at 5am is the manager or even the wife of the owner. She was still there, slides and all too.
I went to Starbucks for the rest of the week and happily paid double, at least my drink was perfect every time.
But listen, you are the ONLY DD IN NOLA!! One of the most important, and easiest parts of your job is to brew coffee and correctly. REMOVE THE FILTER BASKET IMMEDIATELY, DO NOT LET IT SIT DRIPPING INTO THE COFEE!! IT DRAMATICALLY CHANGES THE TASTE IT MAKES YOUR FRESH COFFEE TURN INTO A GROSS, BITTER TASTE!! Look back to your DD training!!!
I hope the next time I am in NOLA that someone was smart enough to open up a DD in this Starbucks run city. Brew good coffee you'll have all the business. This DD seemed to stay busy, like I said its the only one. It would for sure be a good business move for any DD franchisee.
Edit- I'm going back to this area next week, I had to double check so I don't go to this same location. I was just reading some reviews and I see no improvements were made. So no thanks. Hot donut lady, fyi DD does not serve hot donuts. I've worked at 3 locations years and years ago. Krispy Kreme keeps theirs warm, and better donuts anyhow. Dunkins are ok, but coffee is dunkins staple item. It's sad that this location can't even get the coffee right, the simplest process. Looks like they're losing customers all around, poor service...
Read moreOn my visit, 2/29/24, at abt 9:05am, three of the workers here were too dismissive, condescending nd downright DISREE- MUDDA FREEKIN SPECTFULL‼️ including a middle-aged East Indian looking man dressed in plain clothes with no identifying Dunkin Donuts attire, hat, name tag r shirt, just regular clothing.. My order was overlooked for over ten minutes, which I ordered ahead, expecting it to be prepared n ready. However, upon entry, I saw it was somewhat busy but not unmanageable. After patiently waiting, I noticed that three ppl who entered after me nd order atda register had rec'd their orders. One of those being 3 dozen donuts while I had only a med latte nd a muffin, so most work was getting the latte done, which is max, 5mins to accomplish. So upon asking what appeared to be the smallest Indian woman there who was handing completed orders to customers if she cud chk on my order, she completed ignored me. After I raised my voice in distaste, she snapped that, "she will", pointing into the thin air as far as I knew. Then after a minute more that person finally asked how she cud help nd I showed her my phone confirming my order. She then went to the mobile order register nd found my ticket just holding in their device. With a negative, sarcastic tone, she asked if it's [called my name] nd I affirmed. At that point, I saw what appeared 2b the Mgr standing there eyeballing me from the drive thru, so I asked him if he was the mgr nd unless he does not understand English, he looked down nd totally IGNORED me saying jack ish in response. These ppl are the worst at times nd treated me discriminatory in my known contention based on past experiences. It is an unfavorable practice to treat ppl with such Indifference to cause discord. I was in town on business nd didn't have time to argue n fight but I WARN future customers who are chk reviews to be aware of what ur dealing with nd maybe take ur business nxt door to Starbucks or elsewhere. I certainly won't visit that store again wen I visit the area which is frequent. Go back home...
Read moreI’ve been back several times since my earlier review. Note 1. The summary says it has mixed reviews about the freshness of the donuts, and or service quality. All Donut Shops have the freshest donuts early in the morning. Its their prime selling time. Donuts get stale quickly. Service can also depend upon time and or drive thru or inside. Peak times for any drive thru is all business. Take order, take money, serve product. Inside is hit or miss at different locations and time of day.
Note 2. I try to go several times and update my reviews accordingly. That’s what I’m doing now.
I’ve increased my review from four to five. I rarely give fast food restaurants a 5. But the consistency of product & service at various times has mean doing so.
Disclaimer; I am not paid to give reviews. I am not affiliated with Dunkin’ Donuts in any way or their employees. I do so because I used to travel frequently and depended upon honest reviews for towns I was not familiar with. I enjoy this place and hope you will as well.
Still has the best coffee and Awesome breakfast! The egg in a tortilla has fast become my favorite. Could use a better lid on the smaller coffee. Either that or I was given...
