Pho Orchid The last time 3/23/2021 I spent $25 on a large hot and sour shrimp soup and it had a bad smell, it smelled spoiled, vegetables were slimy, shrimp was bad. I called and spoke with Lee to see if I could speak with the manager, all I wanted was a descent soup and a replacement for God’s sake! It’s a $25 soup! He said that the manager was not around and he couldn’t give me another soup or give me my money back. All he could do was take my number down. Well a manager called me back, but it took like almost 2 weeks later. I didn’t call her back because I couldn’t understand the number that she left for me to call back. But now, 11/03/2021 after 8 months, I decided to give them a try again. I asked for the same soup. Lee once again answered the phone to take my order and he straight up told me that the shrimp hot and sour soup was “not good tonight” and encouraged me to order another option. So I quickly said ok, I guess I will go with a large Vegetable pho with the chicken broth. He agreed that was a better option. Well, that soup was nasty too! The noodles were low quality. Both the noodles and the vegetables (cabbage, broccoli, bok Choi tasted spoiled. ) the soup had that once again spoiled taste and smell! What is going on #PhoOrchid ? Your food quality is going downhill as far as #Pho and the #HotandSourSoups What, I don’t like is the fact that they leave you hungry. When I called the first time, I asked Lee if I could bring it back and get a new soup or get something else from the menu and he refused. He said that the manager was not there. What kind of policy is that? I had to go to bed hungry that night and last night too. So I did not even bother calling and asking for the manager last night. I couldn’t even eat that soup either. It didn’t have the onions or the cilantro they normally put on the Pho as well. Man… I have been coming here for almost 20 years, so I know my Pho and their Pho flavor. They are known for having some of the best tasting Pho around. I am just really disappointed. There were times were I would order 3 times a week...
Read moreThis is an okay place for Vietnamese food. I have had a lot of Vietnamese food before. I would request the restaurant cooking staff to work on the way they make food.
Grilled chicken sandwich: I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and a pho ga. I know how that sandwich bread is supposed to taste and break and also how the noodles in the pho are. The bread was breaking into powder and didn't taste very well. The sauce was not applied consistently inside the sandwiches and it felt something was missing. I honestly think that the bread was not fresh at all. The grilled chicken had a smell, smell that makes you not feel like eating there. The garnishing was very average and not attractive.
About the pho now: The quality was fine. The chicken broth was eatable too. The bad thing about the pho was that the noddles where very hard to take out. They were strongly stuck to each other in such a way that they never wanted to be separated. I had a very hard time getting the noodles out of that dish. The white chicken breasts were cooked good but they didn't make it for the damage caused by the noodles. I was only able to finish half of the things from what was served. The quantity of noodles needed to be decreased and the soup should be increased and try cooking noodles in a way that they are easy for customers to eat.
The staff was too excited to take the plates back. I was still eating and he brought me the check and also asked if I wanted a to-go box. I would have totally understood if the place was crowded but it was not. I just had to give up eating and...
Read moreWe were brought to our table promptly and the lady was so kind to even clean off a booth for us to sit. The restaurant itself is beautiful.
My husband, son and I all just ate dinner here. Everything was amazing. We ordered the salt and pepper wings, Vietnamese eggrolls, and spring rolls with shrimp for our appetizer. My husband is very picky when it comes to eggrolls and he loved them here. My son normally takes the rice paper off of the spring rolls but he ate the entire roll together.
For our entrees, we ate family style. Korean Beef was AMAZING and very flavorful. The owner came to talk to us and told us his process on the Korean beef ribs. He was a very sweet soul. He brought our 6 year old son his own little Avocado smoothie, which he loved. We also ordered the Canh Chua Tom (hot and spicy soup with shrimp) and the Ca Kho To (hot clay pot fish). We normally order these items at 9 roses on the Westbank but have to say that these were packed with flavor and that I actually enjoyed these dishes more here.
We will definitely be coming back. I was definitely amazed. Thank you to the staff and the owner. Our dinner...
