Today June 29, 2018.....I was on my way to my son's talent show at the Alerio Center for all JPRD summer camps. I know he loves doughnuts so I stopped to get him 3 glazed doughnuts and a Choclate milk...to surprise him .....Gave him his dounuts and chocolate milk and as soon as he bit into one of his dounuts he says" eeewwww momma these are nasty and their not fresh, their hard and dry (not opening his chocolate milk at all). Btw my son is 9....So for a 9yr old to know they wasnt fresh....THEN YOU KNOW THEY WERE NOT FRESH. Needless to say I bit into one myself just to make sure and yes my son was RIGHT....HARD AS A BRICK. I couldn't leave right away because I would miss his performance, so I called them to let them know that their doughnuts were not fresh and milk was not opened or touched and that I would be coming back for a full refund....I'm not sure of who I talked to over the phone but she insisted on going back and forth with me me arguing that the donuts were freshly made this morning FURTHEST THING FROM THE TRUTH.... So when I arrive to Joe's Cafe and gave the young lady at the register the receipt along with the donuts and the Chocolate milk another middle-aged lady (Caucasian) came and got the receipt out of the same hand I was attempting to give her the dounuts and milk back in ....didn't take the food items back out of my hand did not retrieve the milk or Donuts in my hand while shutting the drive thru door in my face and at that point they contacted the manager and the manager came out first informed me that she would not be taking the milk back although it had not been open or touched and that she wasn't giving me any cash back because I paid with it by debit card (as if Im a crackhead or drunk) and that she will put it back on my account while displaying a very Nasty attitude and argue back and forth with me telling me that the donuts were fresh when I know for myself that we're not in the event of us having verbal exchange I drove off from her because she was very provoking and I didn't want to put my hands on her. As a manager I have never known of any type of professional Decor or behavior to be presented that way however I turned around because not only did she take my receipt back but she didn't give me anything in writing stating what and when was she refunding my card back. As I walked into the restaurant I overheard her talking about me with the other co-workers and at that point I made my presence known and let her know that that was me and that I needed my paperwork stating what she will refund back to me when would it be refunded back to me and how much was she refunding back on my card. I have never been to such a sloppy establishment and I wouldn't have even left the review but this is not my first time buying stale Donuts from that Joe's Cafe but this time only it was handled very nasty and unprofessional and people need to know about it. Especially African-American people due to the fact that the ENTIRE STAFF IS WHITE!!!! NO DIVERSITY IN ANY ESTABLISHMENT SAYS ALOT ABOUT THE OWNERS AND MANAGERS OF THESE TYPES OF ESTABLISHMENTS-RACIST. I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE .....EVER.....THEY DON'T HAVE TO SAY IT OR HAVE ANY. "WHITES ONLY" SIGNS UP FOR YOU TO GET THE PICTURE.
WAKE UP MY PEOPLE THEY WANT THE GREEN DOLLAR BUT NOT FROM THE BLACK RACE.....
LONG STORY SHORT AWFUL PRODUCT AND DESPICABLE...
Read moreI had a problem with my purchase on June 26, 2018, I called late that evening to speak to a Manager. I spoke to Ashley, who informed me that the Manager, Diane, would be in the next morning @ 10am. I called @ 11am the next morning and spoke to the Manager, (she did not identify herself when she came to the phone) but Ashley told me the Manager's name was Diane ... , but she SHOULD HAVE introduced herself when she answered the call. (Problem #1) I purchased 2 Apple Fritters, & 4 Chocolate Covered Borvarian Cream Donuts. The total was CLOSE to $9.00.. The server who took my order put the Apple Fritters in a box & the 4 Chocolate Covered Donuts in a small bag. When I spoke to the Manager, I explained to her how each one of the Chocolate Covered Borvarian Cream Donuts were plain topped donuts when we recovered them from the bag bc the chocolate was all over the inside of the bag (which I have pictures of). The manager first tried to blame the heat outside for this happening, which I insured her, I had my A/C on in my truck and went straight home from my purchase @ Joe's Cafe. (I live 3.4 miles from their establishment.) Then she informed me of their policy of " A customer HAS to buy 6 donuts in order to get a box, bc our boxes costs us $1 per box." For 1, I understand "cost" issues with businesses, but 2+4=6 ... I DID purchase 6 donuts, the 2 Apple Fritters could've been in a bag bc there's NO Chocolate Covering on the top of them, and the Chocolate Covered Borvarian Cream Donuts could have been placed in box. Instead of THIS Manager, 1st apologizing to me for my inconvenience, which EVERY OTHER MANAGER @ ANY OTHER COMPANY (WITH WELL TRAINED EMPLOYEES , ESPECIALLY MANAGERS), WOULD HAVE DONE!! A Manager should APOLOGIZE 1st, then resolve the problem as fast, as polite AND as efficiently as possible . This Manager, whom informed me that she was "part of Corporate" (which is VERY HARD FOR ME TO BELIEVE) when I told her I would make a suggestion to Corporate about their "box, bag" policy. I did Not like the Manager's tone, demeanor, or the way she DID NOT HELP ME IN ANY WAY, BUT ONLY REACHED FOR ANY EXCUSE THAT POPPED IN HER OBVIOUSLY SMALL BRAIN. I did NOT say that to be Ugly, but bc in MY 27 yrs experience in working with the Public, in the Food Industry, I KNOW the Manager SHOULD resolve the problem with the customer promptly, accurately and curtiously. I was EXTREMELY SHOCKED & APPAULED by the way THAT Manager conducted herself, MISTREATED ME AND used NO MANAGEMENT OR CORPORATE SKILLS WHATSOEVER!!! I HIGHLY recommend RE-TRAINING THIS Manager whom is Representing Joe's Cafe NOT ONLY as a Manager, BUT PART OF CORPORATE!!! I would be HAPPY to give her QUITE A FEW SUGGESTIONS!! PLEASE address this matter with this Manager. I would sincerely appreciate it. Your...
Read moreThis happened at the lapalco Joe's. I waited in a very long drive through line at which point I was served 1/2 dozen hot glaze and I asked for 1/2dozen chocolate glaze. I put the box in my truck and drove home. Walked in the front door handed them to my mother she opened the box and immediately told me the chocolate glaze were ice cold as if they just came out of a refrigerator. I brought them back at which point they argued with me that the donuts never where refrigerated but I beg to differ. There's no way these donuts where siting out at room temperature. Iv had plenty of room temp donuts over the years and these were so cold they had to just have come out of the refrigerator. Iv been going to Joe's for an extremely long time since before it was even a Joe's. Although due to the pour services I will never return and will tell all my family and friends about this very pour services. They replied that they replaced the donuts well I guess you did replace them after I went through going back twice to get one hot order not an ideal situation. I run a small construction business and last time I checked you don't serve a customer however you want cold food that should be hot. That would be like if I went to someone's house that had a plumbing leak and I couldn't fix the leak but charge them anyway not good business etiquette. Maybe thats why they will be losing business and clients. An me on the other hand in overloaded with work and great clients but thats the difference between a good business and one that...
