EL Paso Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Louisiana

The best thing about this place was the server that we got. Her name was Hayley and she did an amazing job of trying to fix the kitchens mistakes. First off we ordered pork nachos. They would have probably been great if they would have made it to the table while the were still hot. Hayley kept going in the kitchen to ask where our food was but when they finally gave it to her it had started to get cold and congeale. Our entrees were pretty basic, enchilada rancheros and a taco salad both with beef. They came out about 5 minutes after the nachos even though we ordered the nachos about 15 minutes earlier. The beef in the taco salad was still pink and it was so greasy that I was able to fill a salsa cup. I spoke to the manager who had the kitchen remake the taco salad to go. He brought it to me wrapped and tied in a bag. The new one had rotten tomatoes on it and came with bad guacamole. Nothing was removed from my bill and all in all I paid close to $60 for food that was mostly inedible. I came to this restaurant the night that hurricane Barry made landfall they were one of the few restaurants open that night so I have to give them props for that. I thought that the waitress we had was amazing and they have some really good very strong drinks which is a plus but as a girl who grew up in Southern Arizona I was thoroughly disappointed by their food. I had ordered carne asada nachos and was definitely let down by what they brought me they basically took tortilla chips threw these weird looking chunks of meat on top and this strange white cheese and threw it in the oven. Half of the chips were burnt, the cheese was a strange texture and the meat was very rubbery. I actually did not even eat more than one bite before I sent it back. Another person I was with order two enchiladas with red sauce and instead they brought her two enchiladas smothered in the same strange white cheese stuff which I find very very strange. Went on a Sunday afternoon around 5:30 just me and the wife. Only had 2 other tables seated when we walked in. Got seated very quickly by a very friendly hostess. Waiter came by shortly after and took our drink order. He came back very quickly with our drinks. Took our appetizer order of guacamole and that came out quickly as well. Guacamole was good but it was mostly tomatoes, I mean tomato salad with avocados mixed in. We both ordered a #33, which is kind of a simpler plate. Had taco, tostada, burrito, chili relleno, enchilada, and a flauta. Taco and tostada were pretty good. However, chili relleno had very liquidy cheese and it was mushy and tasted freezer burnt. Flauta was over fried. Burrito and enchilada tasted exactly the same. And they both had a tomato based sauce on them, almost like a marinara sauce. That sauce threw the whole thing off.
