Marble Slab Creamery — Restaurant in Louisiana

As a server and someone who has worked customer service for a while, I hate to not assume the best from my fellow customer service workers but what I experienced from the employees here was stunningly bad. Upon arrival, the girl walking around the tables by the front door gave a huge eye roll, huffed and then said “welcome to Marble Slab” with the worst “customer service fake nice voice” I’ve ever heard. The girl’s two friends who were ahead of us ordering were of course not a problem but that kindness was not given to myself or my girlfriend. Once I ordered, the girl behind the counter didn’t even bother faking her disdain. In front of my face she visibly shook her head, rolled her eyes and then said something under her breath.

I get it, I’ve been in frustrating situations in this industry and I like to give the benefit of the doubt to the workers but like I wasn’t granted that same kindness they showed their friends I also won’t give them the benefit. They need some serious training in how to treat customers or they need to learn to get thicker skin. I can’t recall the last time I’ve ever had someone choose to be rude to my face while they were working because I ordered something. The audacity of it shows a troubling pattern of behavior that illustrates a workplace without accountability. been here a few times. the ice cream is good.. not really happy about my cake order. thin layer of cake, more ice cream than cake. the money I spent on this cake would’ve been worth it at baskin robbins. They actually give you half cake half ice cream. & understood the assignment when I said make the cake cute. Baskin robbins put effort into my girl’s cake last year. The cake I got from marble slab is 3/10.. plain.. crooked letters.. I basically ate ice cream for my girlfriend’s 21st birthday. I won’t be ordering another cake from here again. Stopped in for a long time treat. Not many tables so hope you don't get there while it is busy. Staff was nice. Ordered a banana split and was able to chose my flavors and add what ever toppings I wanted. That is one of the nice things is that you can add what ever toppings to be mixed into your homemade ice they serve. Would have been 5 stars but when seeing that people before me ordering cups with toppings mixed they looked soupy. No ice cream should be...
