Sake Cafe — Restaurant in Louisiana

I've been to this sake before, and Ive always had a great experience. Last night was an exception. Upon checking in at the door, around 6p, I've noticed there wasn't that many customers inside. I'm guessing because of covid. Happy to see everyone wearing a mask and distancing. I was very surprised because Saturday nights are usually busy. We got our table right away, server was kind and friendly, and took our order. After the server took our order, I begin to noticed the busboy. He was wiping down one of the tables and cleaning up after the customers. And then that's when I noticed he wasn't wearing any gloves but he was handling the new napkins, utensils, dipping tray after he finished cleaning up. Normally, some restaurants have the servers replace the napkins, etc. and the busboys just clean up because they handle dirty dishes, etc. This was not the case. It was a slow night and it was the same busboy doing the cleaning up, did not wash his hands, but replacing the utensils, etc. During these times of uncertainty, everyone must take every precaution to stay safe, what happened that night was irresponsible for everyone working there. I blame myself also because I didn't report it to my server and to anyone else, but my party. I'm sorry sake, I think the reason why you weren't that busy last night cuz I'm probably not the only one...

This is the third time this week that we and at least one grand daughter had lunch at Sake Cafe. That tells you something about our appreciation of the service, food and atmosphere. Truly the waitress we consistently request, Lacy, does everything possible to assure we quickly get our order, the order is precisely what we ordered, presents the order precisely to the person who ordered the particular items. That in itself is seldom done in restaurants today. She is also very knowledgeable of the menu items too. She is considerate, polite and just naturally charming. Now for the quality of the food, the best snowcrab salad in town. We always get a snow crab salad when on any restaurant menu. As stated, this is the best one town. My wife likes the sushi bento box and I like the snow crab rolls. We order other items too, just to try them. Some were ok and others were a little better than others. The standard items we order, snowcrab salad, sushi bento box and craqmw rolls are great. Worthy of our coming in consistently, even three times this week, because of guests visiting. Truly worthy of repeat visits and priced Right for family...

My sister and I have been to Saki weekly for about 4 months. She had been there longer than me. The wait staff is amazing!! About a month ago I found plastic in my rice. I told the waiter and she brought another bowl. Today my sister and I went to eat and I found paper in my rice. I requested to speak to the manager and told him what I found. He brought the papers back to the chef and he said it was from the sushi. I said I was upset because I found plastic and paper in my rice. Not only was the manager apologizing he was not in the least bit worried. The shrimp tempera was always amazing!! I assured the waitress that this would not affect her tip which I tipped her 25%. After I paid I went to speak to the manager and I told him how unhappy I was with his response. He not only did’t apologize, he told me it was my fault about the incident! I told him I would never come back again
