Moe's Original BBQ — Restaurant in Louisiana

I have passed this place soooooooo many times but today, July 4th, was the day you try them out. The wood was burning in the grill, and the smoke was was doing it's job was making that meat inside sooooo good! We ordered the smoke turkey platter with an addition of brisket and the smoke turkey moe boy with an addition of wings. The platter came with a side of cornbread(not too sweet) baked beans( has pork inside and a smokey, not to sweet taste), Mac-n-cheese (very creamy and baked) and the side of brisket was falling apart, literally. The sandwich plate is not a po'boy but a sandwich on a very soft, lightly sweet burger bun. It is dressed with a little BBQ sauce, pickles, lettuce but I poured the white BBQ sauce which was for the wings, onto the sandwich, amazingly good. The peach cobbler was amazing, so many peaches but enough crust that it all balanced out, I could have eaten that all day. The potato salad was made with red potatoes, may mustard and chives, maybe other seasonings but I can't quite say. I was surprised it was so good because I am very hard to please when it comes to potato salad. The wings was so good , I wanted more but I had no room. It is served with a special white BBQ sauce that is awesome. They were not serving any seafood and or smoked chicken, the wings were added at the end of my order so I got it as a side addition which only came with 3 instead of the 8 in the full order. We got water and Arnold palmer to drink. Taylor at the register was so helpful and knowledgeable with suggestions for our 1st time visit. She handles the load so well to say they were very busy for the 4th July holiday. If you are ever in the mood for BBQ, THIS PLACE IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I went into the restaurant to place a to go order, the place was nice and clean. It was after 1pm, so it was not very busy. I ordered smoked chicken, green beans, and peas. I waited at the end of the bar until they called my name, approximately 10 minutes, they gave me a bag and I left. When I got back to the office and opened up my food, this plate had pulled pork, Mac and cheese, & sweet potato casserole. Unfortunately, I am restricted to the amount of sugar and charbs I can consume, so this was not a meal I could eat. Now I realize that mistakes can happen and I am a reasonable person, so at this point, I would have still gone back here to give them another shot sometime. But the problem came when I called to notify them of the mistake. The young girl who answered the phone kept insisting that I had picked up the wrong bag, insinuating that it was my fault that I had gotten the wrong order. I explained that I took the bag that they handed me, but she totally ignored that and said that there was probably more than one bag on the counter and I grabbed the wrong one. Again I told her, no, there was only one bag at the counter and that was the one that was handed to me. She finally said that I could back and pick up the correct order, but by this time, my lunch hour was over so I couldn't go back. So with this visit, I had no lunch and was out $13. BBQ perfection ! This was the third time we had purchased food from Moe’s, so they are way overdue for a fantastic review. In the past, we had ordered for lunch, and all of their plates are more than enough food for lunch. The smoky smell on everything is fantastic. If you love barbecue, then this is your place. Today we ordered two whole chickens, brisket, and ribs, along with several side items for a business event we were hosting. We called and the order of the day before so it would be ready by 11:30 AM When I arrived, I gave them my name, and they quickly assembled my order . I cannot even believe the amount of food they gave me for way under $200 The chicken skin was slightly Chrispy and Deliciously Smokey, and the meat, of course, was tender and smoky goodness . Usually, I don’t eat brisket because something is off in it, but there’s was fantastic with no sauce at all . Easy to chew and everything. The ribs were fantastic with just a little bit of fat on them… Delicious !!! They have a marinated coleslaw that is fantastic more of a vinegar base . Beans and potato salad are also great side items . They included their amazing barbecue sauce in quart containers., but you hardly need it.
