Olive Garden Italian Restaurant — Restaurant in Louisiana

I've always LOVED olive garden for many many year's can NOT go without olive garden that salad, bread sticks always so yummy I was proven wrong My Husband,2 Daughter's, myself was in houma for him to catch the boat so of course the Husband picked olive garden bc he knew had been saying I wanted some and it had been about a year that we had stopped at a olive garden to eat so that we was in town we went here for dinner bc i "Thought can NOT go Wrong here" but when parked ummm it wasn't many cars roughly MAYBE seven vehicles we felt that was odd bc every location had ever been to they'd been busy busy weather it's lunch or Dinner and you'd be lucky if you didn't have at least a 15 minute wait which would always be fine bc the restaurant was always amazing but we walked in and it was DEAD EMPTY there other than two tables and a couple my husband and I looked at each other and was like what the F... but we was like well who knows it could still be very well good it was around 5:30 pm on a Tuesday so maybe it was still to early for some but then I thought this is deep south Louisiana so heck they probably wanting so delicious a.. seafood so we ordered drinks, appetizers and of course he brought the salad and bread sticks out first off the bread sticks was so over cooked if not overly brown they was hard overly cooked the salad was good but My all time favorite Appetizer was brought out which was the spinach artichcoke dip and I tried to eat some but it was so watery and had no taste so of course I didn't eat it it went wasted bc I'm only one eats it now the calamari that my husband ordered was very good it was eat and is recommend the fried mozzarella sticks was so close to burnt lol but my 10 year old daughter still ate them heck I believe she was glad they was burn bc she didn't have to share with no one so she wanted them lol now the two girls did like the spaghetti and meatballs, the two orders from what I saw they was not burned or overcooked they did eat all of it but it was different with the chicken alfredo & chicken and shrimp alfredo well it wasn't as good as they normally always was we both had just a couple of bites and didn't take it home any home

Now the service the guy gave was good he was very nice and respectful the restaurant was clean from what i saw of but by the time we left @ 7 something it still wasn't any humans coming in lol so I don't no what they got going on at this location in houma but I more likely want go back now I'm NOT going to say I won't recommend the location bc honestly it could had been just that day but it's like that everywhere you go to eat in every state one day it could be amazing and later that day or next day it could be absolutely the worst ever had so I'm just speaking on my experience at this location in July 2024 I think the ones in Mississippi on the coastal is always been great for year's but it will be more likely a wait at lunch or Dinner so I no next time not to compare restaurants especially if it's in another state 😉 FYI I now know that Louisiana is the home of...

Jan 2020: 8 years ago this place was awesome, due mostly in part of a server in particular (Jim). Me and the wife would go all for him and leaves when he wasn't there. This is not to say the other servers where bad, just preferred that if we ate here (something we could only afford to do over a week) it be with our favorite server. We tried this establishment again for the first time in 2 years after 4 really bad experiences and was surprised at how nice the experience was we were served by a member of management (Amanda C) assisted by gentleman (Heck) in training. Both where friendly, nice to talk to and made the night a fun one. We will go back again however this time we will request that Heck be our server. Food was good.

Update Jun 2022: We arrived an hour before closing and were seated promptly. Our server greeted us fairly quickly to take our drink order. We placed one drink order and asked a question about the other, our waitress said she would go and ask. 10 minutes later the person delivering the first drink was asked the same question, she didn't know but left and returned with the answer within a minute. We placed the second drink order with her. Our waitress came along a few minutes later, 10-15 minutes from us placing our drink order. She took our food order return shortly with our salad, bread sticks, and Alfredo sauce, then promptly disappeared for some time (a good bit of time) after drinks were out and salad and bread sticks we waited another 10+ minutes before going up front to ask a manager about this (maybe due to closing duties/ it was not according to him). Today was a special day for us and we spent most of our time here wondering where our waitress was. Disappointed yet again with the service here and will likely wait another year or so before returning. What is truly sad is this place used to be our first choice and we visited weekly for years. The first time I ever went eat here was a couple days ago and the first 10 minutes were nice the food was pretty good and I found hair in my soup my sister told our waitress who then rolled her eyes and was very rude saying it was probably one of our eyelashes or a hair that fell from our eyebrows (this hair was way longer than eyelashes or eyebrow hair) we then told her that this wasn't our hair and we asked to speak to the manager she said that they were making a new batch and throwing out the one that contained hair and they were gonna give us more soup my sister and I both asked for the soups to go she said sure and we thanked her. The waitress came back with more soup (we had the all you can eat soup, salad and breadsticks) and she said "I'm surprised you can still eat if I found hair in my food I would have lost my appetite" I said we asked for the soup to go she said "oh now that I said something you want it to go" rolled her eyes once again and walked away . She never came back with another to go soup container so I had to share with my sister and then she brings me some sweet tea and the check without even asking us if we were done I reach over to grab the check and the tea accidentally spills she rolled her eye and balled her fist and took and deep breath I said "I'm sorry" she didn't respond I grabbed napkins and me and my sister began cleaning it up she came and cleaned the ice off the floor I apologized again and she completely ignored me once again . This all happened at the Olive Garden in Houma we weren't in there long . My sister and I were being as tolerant as possible with the rude unwanted comments from the waitress .
