Cleanliness - 1/5 Service - 4/5 Food - 2/5 Overall Experience - 2/5
Upon entering the restaurant, my girlfriend and I were greeted with a warm southern welcome & bright beautiful smiles. This was almost immediately overshadowed by the impurities of the restaurant itself. The floors were covered in long-standing stains & marks, and the walls replicated the same with dust. Upon sitting at our table, my girlfriend was joined by a little friend(a lizard) that hopped out from the booth chair behind her, and made its way to the floor. The tables were very sticky as were the benches. Grime & dirt covered all the nooks & crannies of the area, along the walls, and corners of the floors.
We persevered through and hoped our food would be a better experience. Our server, Bonnie, came right on over immediately and accommodated us with our preferred drinks & silverware. When ordering time rolled around I opted for the Philly Cheese steak Hash brown bowl with grilled onions and mushrooms and a side of biscuits and country gravy.
My bowl arrived at the table, and seemed pretty undesireable at first glance, after mixing the toppings into the rest, the hash browns & cheese gave the whole dish a more pleasing appearance. The steak in the bowl decided it wanted to fight back. It gave my jaw a life sentence of chewing with how tough and leathery it was. The hash browns were cooked perfectly, and the onions and mushrooms gave it that extra kick of flavor that the sliced American cheese failed to bring to the table. I then decided to try a bite of the biscuits smothered in gravy. The gravy was very good, and had just the right amount of black pepper & sausage to give it a perfect flavor without being too salty or peppery. The biscuit underneath, however was still dough in the center, which as you can guess was a huge letdown.
My overall experience has taught me that I'm much better off at any other breakfast restaurant, namely the blue & red smiley face across the street, and that I will not...
Read moreFind a different place to eat. This place is going downhill. I have been coming here about 18 times a year for the past 5 years. I use to enjoy coming here for breakfast, but the last couple of visits have been very disappointing. The previous visit, the breakfast was brought out to me in courses: first the patty sausage, then the bacon, then the eggs & hashbrowns---all over 5 minutes apart! And even though the eggs were brought last, they were still cold! Considering what happened this last visit, I should have been thankful for the cold food I received on the previous visit because this time I never got waited on!!! I came in to the restaurant as usual, sat down and then proceeded to watch 8 more people come in in 3 different parties and have their orders taken while I sat there waiting for a waitress. I had to double check my clothing to make sure I wasn't wearing camouflaged clothes since obviously the waitress was either ignoring me or didn't see me! The last straw was when the couple next to me (who came in after me) got their food and I hadn't even ordered yet! Then the waitress had the audacity to then come to my booth and attempt to take my order. By this time I couldn't decide whether to order breakfast or lunch and I had had enough, so I got up and left. I don't blame the wait staff; this is a management problem. I vote with my feet and vote I will. Find another place to eat breakfast---I...
Read moreThe food was amazing as usual and FAST. This is more a review on the waitress. Unfortunately I didn't see her name tag. She immediately got snippy when I told my mom "We need to claim that table" and the waitress thought I said "CLEAN that table." And it all went down hill from there. She walked away from my sister in the middle of getting her order to talk to another worker. When she came back my sister wanted to make sure she knew she wanted the All Star bc the lady didn't ask her the usual questions and had walked away during the order. She again got snippy and said "yes, I know ma'am. I've been working here for 22 years." But she seemed confused when my sister said she wanted a waffle with it?? In the end, she never brought me the waffle that was supposed to come with my All Star even though I asked about it when she came back by. Finally I just asked her to take it off my bill. My daughter had to ask her twice for the whipped cream she ordered on her waffle. We were only checked on once and were never offered refills. Also, there was a spot at the bar we were told we couldn't sit at, because there was a leak dripping onto the table and "we don't know what's in...
