I am extremely disappointed at the customer service I experienced. I placed an order online and thought that I was ordering from the Harvey location, as soon as I completed my order I received a message stating that my order would be ready in about 25 minutes at the Metairie location. I immediately called the Metairie location to notify them of the error and to request that my order be transferred to the Harvey location as I was only 5 minutes from there. A woman was put on the phone who informed me that my order had already begun to be prepared and that they would have to throw the food away (which I found odd, since my order confirmation said it wouldn’t be ready for another 25 mins.). She also stated that since food costs are so high, the only solution that she could offer me was to give me half of my money back, which would’ve been $14. My only choice was to travel to Metairie to get the food (even though I was 5 mins from the Harvey location) or pay $14 for food that I wouldn’t receive. I decided to pick up the food, and the order wasn’t even correct. They have lost a potential long term customer due to poor customer service which will cost more than the few dollars they...
Read moreI think it's important to state the one the issue with Paco's Tacos right off the bat: they have limited parking. However, once you find a parking spot you are soon to enter into a blissful culinary experience.
On my first visit I ordered the five tacos to sample their offerings and I can confidently state that their Trompo produces delicious pork for the tacos and was the stand out in this outing.
On my second visit I was tempted by the rock tacos and the crisp but light exterior of the tacos did a fabulous job of hugging the flavorful meat contained within. The consume made the experience feel like an elevated version of a sandwich with au jus.
Upon visiting a third time I indulged myself with costras arrachera and the paco taco. The former was the exact fantasy one would want to come true if you love meat and cheese. The latter was an exemplary rib eye taco experience. The sear on the meat provided a satisfying crust to the flavorful cubes of meat.
This has become engrained as one of the staple restaurants I will be frequenting moving forward. Like I said, the only downside is limited parking, but for food like this I'll happily wait for a spot or...
Read moreRated 3 because of the following.
Mexican restaurants/ taquerias in this area that are actually good are very far in between. Who could blame them, this State isn't known for its ground breaking street taco or burrito- so you really can't be disappointed because of it. Being of Mexican descent I typically do most of my cooking at home, street tacos included- but this review ain't about my kitchen or skills- it's to simply say thank you Jesus, I can finally take a break and hit a joint that's good in flavor. I'm a hard critic when it comes to my cultural food, mainly because I grew up in an area where Mexian food is very competitive and only the best of the best stick around. Needles to say this place is a taqueria I would re-visit, good flavor. 3 stars only because I've been to this place once, my environmental experience could have been better, not sure if they had HVAC issue this day- but it was hotter inside than it was outside. I do hope their AC unit is working, or do hope they invest in one because that was frankly my only discomfort...
