I've just recently discovered this place and the food and coffee are both amazing. I went in for the second time today and everything I purchased was awesome. I was a little put off by the girl who rang up my order however. I understand everyone is trying to maintain a certain level of sanitation but it's very off putting to have the cashier tell me "she'll be my hands" when I'm deciding what to tip. Most places I've been into are spraying rubbing alcohol onto their credit card machines after each use. Instead the girl essentially asked me what button I intended to push so she could do it for me. I understand these are trying times but this is the only business where I've had this type of experience experience and frankly they got a lower tip because of it. I gave the highest amount available without doing a custom tip but I didnt feel comfortable doing a custom tip without putting it in myself. I hope they address this practice because I really like this coffee shop and intend to return but if I can't put the tips in myself, the workers tips won't be as high as what I've been giving at other...

However, you are touching my cup, lid, container and bags without wearing gloves and changing them between customers. I support being safe and taking precautions but it must involve all involved since it is spread through contact too.
My rating is based upon the biscuit I received. For $6.50 I expected a large or incredibly flavorful biscuit sandwich. It was small and average tasting. Nothing about the sandwich made it unique or worthy of getting again. To make matters worse, they didn't add the bacon i paid for either. Biscuit, pourover and 12oz ground coffee was more than $30 with tip. Seattle residents make twice the income yet these are Seattle prices in Kentucky. I like Big Dog coffee, but this is my 2nd of 3 not so memorable experiences.
Other than that, the Big Dog blend is rich...
Read moreI typically go to Bean when I’m in town as they have great coffee. I was very disappointed in their customer service today. The shop was very busy so I patiently waited in line about 15 mins to place my order. I then waited another 20 minutes for my coffee; but I noticed several people who ordered after me had received their drinks. So I asked the barista if mine would be ready soon to which I was brushed off and told it was coming. Shortly after, she realized a cup had not been placed for my order and whispered to another employee to make one. I overheard and asked about it and was told she forgot to make the cup. There was no sense of urgency or even an apology for the error, which really disappointed me. A simple “we’re really sorry about that” can go along way. Ultimately I requested a refund and received that. Maybe if I looked more like others in the coffee shop I wouldn’t have been dismissed...
