My sister and my friend’s sister were both in town for the holidays. I’ve loved canary club every time I’ve gone, so we figured we’d go there and show them what it’s about. My sister (29), friend’s sister (33), and other friend (29) got told their ID’s were fake without conversation and without any other basis (no ID scanner, no light to shine, no booklet) simply because they’re from out of town. I understand being more skeptical around the holidays, but not having anything to back up your claim, is only a good way to lose customers. This bar is also not in a prime area of town for tourists/underage college drinkers, (4th street, old Louisville, bardstown road). I would suggest encouraging your staff to try to have a conversation with patrons first if they’re skeptical, and then have a 2nd way to check and make sure they’re real. Would suggest that doesn’t include showing your passport, because who randomly brings those to bars, let alone drives with it from Kansas or New Jersey? Would love to come back here, but fearsome I will be denied service with my real ID. Because also my other sister currently lives out of town, so I would have to assume neither are...

I was really looking forward to visiting the canary club, but unfortunately, the experience was ruined by the incredibly rude staff. From the moment we walked in, we were met with cold stares and dismissive attitudes. The bartender acted like serving us was a chore, barely acknowledging our presence and rolling their eyes when we asked for recommendations.
When we finally got our drinks, there was no warmth or hospitality—just a feeling that we were an inconvenience. At one point, we asked a simple question about the wine selection, and the response was condescending and short, as if we should have already known the answer.
For a place that markets itself as a cozy and inviting wine bar, the atmosphere was anything but. There are plenty of other spots in town where the staff actually care about their customers—won’t be...
Read moreI was there last week to meet my sister for the first time. I ordered a French 75 and waited with flowers for her. I believe that they were racist because of the attitude and energy of the bar staff on both sides. One side the staff members followed me around like I was going to steal what I purchased which was gourmet tuna 🍣 fish that I wanted to try. I just gave it to her as I continued to shop. Because as black people - we do not have the privilege in some stores to enjoy the act of tasting and reading boxes. Now, I was wearing a Rolex and high end clothing but they still followed me around. It comes to show that racism is everywhere. Additionally, I own the therapy company down the street. So, I walked to this company. Moving forward.... I will tell anyone I know not to support this company. Racist is not cool and profiling is not acceptable. Grow please and...
