2 pastries, 2 drinks, $30!!!! Iām not one to shy away from an expensive coffee (especially if itās locally owned and actually worth it) But Jesus⦠7.95 (w/tax) for a 16oz iced latte?? Add an extra dollar if you are lactose intolerant!(how are you gonna charge me an extra $ for Kirkland brand Oatmilk š) And near six dollars for a small to medium sixes pastry. I hope the owner is ATLEAST paying their employees $16-$18 for how overpriced it is.
Itās constantly packed and absurdly loud, thereās very little space to even stand and wait for your order, let alone walk around. Atmosphere is cute, but again very hard to enjoy.
Service was okay(?) The cashier didnāt seemed thrilled to be there let alone take out order, sheās was kind of awkward and quiet. In that environment you canāt really be quiet so it was a struggle to order. I asked her the price of one of the pastries, and when she told me how much it was I said āno I think Iāll be okay for today.ā And she still added it on. Not complaining too much though because the almond croissant was definitely the highlight of my visit. Drinks came out relatively fast and the barista brought them to us at the hand off station.
Overall I personally will not be returning, especially not with those prices or the service.
If youāre looking for good quality and not nearly as expensive coffee with a much better atmosphere, there are definitely 100 other places you can visit.
But give it a shot if youāre a liquid enough coffee connoisseur, but for my average joe, stick to your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis little coffee shop had some big things to say about what a coffee shop can offer! I could sense the classic coffee shop feel when I walked in, but I was not prepared by the complex story it was about to tell. I ordered the tuna sandwich unsuspecting of the American and southeast Asian flavor battle my mouth would have to witness. šŖThe tuna was fresh, flavorful, and cold. It had a delicious arugula topping and was paired with eel and honey chili sauce that just ended every bite with a zing š„ The Fall coffee flight paired nicely as the aerial support of the battle. It dropped three bombs of iced lattes: Pumkin Spice š, Ube Chai šŖ», and Spicy Apple š . The ube was my favorite and star of the show. The deep purple calls your attention right to it. The first sip is like your college relationship⦠shy at first and all the kick at the end ( and even a little spicy). The ube reminded me of a sweeter version of Taro. I think I owe it an apology bc I now like Ube better (I wasnāt familiar with your game).
As I finished my dessert (the apple caramel waffle) it started to snow āļø Im not sure if this was part of the experience but it canāt be coincidence. The entire experience felt like a ride to an Asian grandmas house...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been to this place three times now, every time they donāt disappoint! I tried the iced coffee flight with my friend the first time to see what drink we should get later and honestly it was a super cute presentation with four great drinks- Iām not a coffee person myself so I preferred the ube and matcha but if I had to get coffee the butterscotch was super delish! I ordered got the tuna on toast and itās so good everytime- my friend got avocado and itās just as tasty! All their breakfast/lunch items are just well thought out and taken care of. Not only the food but the atmosphere and shop is adorable- it is a little small so itās harder for big parties but honestly itās more cozy with smaller groups! Itās such a nice place and definitely would be nice if you wanna enjoy reading a book, studying or having a cute coffee date with someone! The people who own/work there all are very sweet and friendly. We will definitely continue to come to phalcha, itās such...
