We had not eaten at Captain D’s for a long time and so we were looking forward to going. It was my husband, my sister, my daughter and myself, and we decided to go in and eat. It was not bad when we entered the restaurant the lady that was taking the order was very nice, she promptly greeted us and took our orders. We went to sit down. It did look like the restaurant was a bit on the messy side. However, since Covid things have been hit and miss wherever you go nowadays, so we were not put off by things being out of place. When our food came, you could definitely tell that the fry grease needed to be changed. Our hush puppies tasted like funnel sticks. And the fries were not enjoyable. The fish sandwich that is posted in the pictures is one fillet of battered fish and that is not what you receive for the sandwich. You get two very, long skinny pieces of battered fish. There was an odd smell in the dining area. You could not tell where it was coming from. However, when I answered the woman’s restroom, I could tell that it was from in there. There was a diaper that had been left in the trash bin for several days. And I say a diaper because I am assuming it is a diaper. That is what it smelt like. There were hairs all over the entire bathroom from the toilet to the sink. It was absolutely disgusting in the restroom. I refused to use the restroom. Once I left the restroom and went to sit back down I noticed that the smell had followed me out, and it would not go away. It was that nasty. I will never go to this Captain D’s again. I am pretty certain that the family members that were with me would choose not to go there again either. This Captain D’s needs a complete overhaul. Except for the lady that took our order. That was the only good thing about this dining experience. Even when one of the workers came out of the men’s restroom, and I notified them that the ice machine was spitting out, ice a few feet away from the machine I was afraid someone would slip and fall, he got the wet floor sign, place it over top of my foot Where I was wiping of the liquid on the floor. And went on about his way. The way that he looked I do not believe he should’ve been cooking any food. He was completely unkempt, and long hair was everywhere. I usually try to give businesses the benefit of the doubt. Like I stated before after Covid things have been different at any establishment. But this one did not have a lack of employees from what it looked like. It had a lack of hygiene and people willing to clean up the area. I do not recommend going to this restaurant. Read moreI stopped going here years ago because the service, and often as a result the food, got so bad. Every time. They have their lobster thing going on so I recently decided to give them another chance. Big mistake. I went through the drive through and ordered two lobster rolls, some lobster bites, some lobster bisque, and a Ghirardelli cheesecake. The lobster bisque was the best out of all of it. The lobster rolls were okay, but pretty mediocre. The bites were not very good, and they left out the dipping sauce. I was starving so I ate immediately when I got home, then I noticed my cheesecake wasn't in the bag. I called and they apologized and said I could come back and get it. No offer of anything for my inconvenience. Things got worse from there. I get to the a drive through and the woman on the speaker was obviously expecting me and said to drive around. When I pulled up to the window I can see nobody was behind the counter. Only one car was parked in front. Uh oh. Why weren't they waiting at the window to hand it to me? I sat, and sat, and sat. Saw who turned out to be the manager walk from the back into the dining room and then walk to the back again with a drink he had gotten for himself in his hand. Never looked my way. Then the young lady who had given me my food earlier walks right up to the window, then turns around and walks into the back again without even making eye contact. Finally after 8 - 9 minutes of sitting there, with them having no customers, I call and ask to speak to the manager. He gets on the phone and starts arguing with me about how long I have been waiting, and lies to me and tells me they had to "go get" the cheesecake. Eventually the manager comes to the window and I start giving him "what for". The young lady comes out of the back, grabs a cheesecake from the reach-in in my clear view right behind the counter, and hands it to me and apologies for leaving it out of the bag earlier. Seriously? They left me sitting there waiting for 8 - 9 minutes, with no customers, to hand me a piece of cheesecake. I emailed the company with feedback about this, and never heard anything back. This place has been pathetic for years and still is. I recommend avoiding at all cost. It's a horribly run chain. Read moreI come to this location all the time and I never experienced what I have experienced today. First of all I ordered a fish and fry and I only got one piece of fish and my hush puppies were burnt and very small. I took my food back after realizing my food was wrong and had to wait in the drive thru line again waiting at least 20 minutes before getting to the intercom because they had the front door lobby closed and doors were locked at 1:04pm in the afternoon. When I got to the window. A lady named Denise claimed she was a manager was very rude unprofessional and disrespectful. Yes I ate SOME of my fries while waiting in this long drive thru line for at least 20 minutes and I kindly asked Denise if I could get more fries for the inconvenience while she threw away the rest of the fries I haven't eaten yet. She rudely refused to give me more fries as I was very hungry and had to wait long in the drive thru line. I noticed her nasty hateful response and I asked her 'Are you serious???!!!' she repeated back the question I asked her in a very rude sarcastic manner so I asked to speak to a manager she claimed she was the manager on shift and was the only manager there. So I asked her for a corporate number and her name.. she gave me a invalid email printed on a piece of paper. So I googled the correct email waiting on a response and now I'm here giving my review. She yelled at me after asking her for a corporate number she claimed Caption D's doesn't have. I come to this location all the time at least 2 times a week and I never experienced what I have experienced today and I have never seen this lady ever before. She needs to be removed from working here at all and she certainly shouldn't be a manager treating guests this way.
