I have been to this location in the past with decent service and food, no previous problems.
Today, however, I was being argued with by the manager because what I ordered off the online menu was not the same as what their menu offers. (Side note, the item I ordered contains less food and cost more on their menu...).
To begin with, I called the CORRECT location and placed an order. Once we arrived to pick up the to-go order, we were told it was never put into the system. Okay, mistakes happen, we waited another 15 mins and then it was ready. Nothing was offered for our inconvenience but that's okay, too, it was only 15 mins. The manager was kind enough to offer my fiance a free mask for which they are charging $5 for (to give credit where credit is due).
But then I had items missing from my order. My fiance went back in to retrieve the items only to come back out with a paper copy of their menu after being told we "ordered from the wrong menu." So, I went back in to show them how their location on Google links to the menu I ordered from therefore it's false advertisement. Originally, the manager states they "are working on getting that fixed" and dismissed me. I then brought up the fact that our order was never placed to begin with and was subsequently asked to show proof of which number I called, what time, and if I spoke to a guy or girl. I supplied all the information and the manager reluctantly provided me with my missing items.
Note to future customers--the Valley Station location does not provide the same menu that is online. It's also more expensive. Lesson learned.
Note to Valley Station El Nopal manager--Don't treat your customers like liars. Customer service is an important part of running a restaurant business, don't skimp on that area like you skimp on the menu.
Overall, this is not enough to prevent me from going back and I'd be happy to change my rating permitting I have better experiences in the...
Read moreI have been to dozens of Mexican restaurants across the world but this place is the only one that apparently doesn't know their own heritage. Since when is a chile relleno a scoop of ground beef covered in melted cheese? "Oh, you want poblanos?" they asked me when I sent it back. It's right in the name of the dish. CHILE rellenos. Type "Chile rellenos" into Google and tell me what you find. I'll wait. Also, apparently a "chalupa" is some variation of a soft taco with refried beans. SINCE WHEN? Again, Google "Mexican chalupa" and tell me what you find. I'm still waiting. Lastly, if I order a quesadilla, I don't expect a soft taco grilled on both sides. It wasn't even cut into quarters before it landed on my table. It was a tortilla with very salty ground beef and a sprinkle of cheese that they flopped on the grill. Unacceptable. The frozen margarita was trash. 99% margarita mix and ice, 1% cheap tequila. I've been here before but it has never been this bad. I don't know what kind of scam they think they're pulling but all I can say is that I won't be fooled again. Feels like they are trying to save money at the expense of the customer because they suspect that you don't know any better or won't question what's on your plate. I seriously recommend going somewhere else. The only logical conclusion I could come to was that they think the customers are stupid and that they can just serve anything and nobody will notice. Never coming here again. I feel sorry for the people who don't know any better and just nod and smile when random "Mexican" food lands on...
Read moreFANTASTIC FOOD WITH GREAT SERVICE!!! 👪 This place has a GREAT atmosphere; definitely a place to go if you're a couple or having a family reunion. I live about 90 miles from here; my sisters & I stopped in here to eat as we were HUNGRY for Mexican style food. We were NOT disappointed with our mutual decision to stop & eat here. The first thing I noticed was the HUGE CROWD in the restaurant as it was supper time. Man were they ever busy! However, they were undaunted; well suited to to the formidable task the staff was faced with. They shined through scurrying hurriedly about keeping up with all that was required of them. The second thing I noticed; there were quite a few family gatherings seated there as evidenced by the children accompanying the adults. So this place has a GREAT FAMILY ATMOSPHERE. 👪 Thirdly I noticed the building was well maintained, the restroom was clean, free of objectionable odors. The dining area was kept clean, I LOVED the unusual decor, the food was served promptly even though they were in a rush, our food was correctly seasoned & was very tasty plus the service is really good too. VERY DEFINITELY A RECOMMENDED PLACE...
