Edit 12/8. A truly awful experience. Jack in the Box reponses on the reviews here inviting you to follow the link because they "want to investigate and have someone respond" are meaningless. I followed the link, provided my comments asked for a refund, and, a month later, have still heard absolutely nothing from them. My only experience with Jack in the Box is this location. Don't go. Horrible. *end of edit
Maybe, as I did until my first (and likely only) Jack In The Box experience today, you're thinking, "I've never had Jack In The Box, but I've heard about them for years. Now that they are in Louisville I'll give them a try".
Don't do it.
I didn't have the app on my phone but I went to the webpage, created an account, and placed a $40 order that my email response said would be ready in 8-10 minutes. Arriving about 10 minutes from the time I placed my order I found the restaurant with a line backed up from the counter to the door of unhappy customers. I made my way to the mobile pickup area where other mobile customers were already waiting and was told it would be a little while. After 20 minutes of seeing counter and drive-thru orders leaving I politely asked if the mobile orders were being worked. I was told they were.
I know what you're thinking. 20 minutes for fast food? It was time to get a refund and leave, but somehow it became almost a challenge. How long could it really take to complete an order?
ONE HOUR after placing my order, and with the number of mobile order customers growing a woman came in , approached a young man behind the counter with her mobile order was promptly served ahead of the many of us who had been waiting. Without raising my voice I politely advised the young man that me and everyone else standing with me had been waiting for an hour. He adopted an argumentative attitude and rudely told me that they had 50 mobile orders and it was just going to take time. Aside from my thinking about how Chick-Fil-A must do 50 mobile orders and serve instore and drive-thru customers in the course of any hour without delays for anyone, neither (though I didn't say so) did his words explain how the one mobile order that came in and jumped the line was served so quickly while leaving everyone else waiting without so much as a time estimate.
I finally asked for my food or a refund - it had been an hour after all - but the employee walked away! Eventually I had the attention of a manager and was told that the only way I could get a refund was through the mobile app. I sighed a bit. Another customer spoke up to the manager "You can understand why he would be upset". She had been waiting almost as long as me.
Having placed my order on the web page I downloaded the app right there in the store and signed into my recently created account. A refund cannot be requested easily through the app, or maybe I was in a haze of dismay at how long I had been there and how little it seemed to matter. The manager gave me a phone number to call. Upon calling I was told they were closed (Sunday) and that I would need to call back tomorrow. I was left with 2 options - lose $40, or continue my time lengthening vigil for "fast" food. Finally, the only bright spot in the whole ordeal, the young order taker who had witnessed all came to me, apologized and made it a point to go back to the grill area, and almost item by item she brought out my order in separate bags over the course of about 20 minutes. Though I did not catch her name I told this helpful young lady that she was working in the wrong place. She had been patient with everyone my entire two hours there; she was polite and efficient. She deserves a better work environment.
After almost TWO HOURS I had my food. At the house, we found it was all, unsurprisingly, cold, if edible. I wasn't about to take anything back though. Think of all the things you can do in 2 hours. Play with your children, read a book, or watch a movie... I didn't have two more hours to spare for Jack in the Box. They had taken enough of my time. Don't let them take...

After eagerly anticipating the arrival of Jack in the Box in Louisville, Kentucky, my experience has left me more than just disappointed; it's heartbreaking. Having been a loyal fan of Jack in the Box for over 22 years, the absence of this beloved fast food chain was felt deeply during my three years in Kentucky. Imagine the sheer joy upon discovering a location had finally opened nearby – a beacon of nostalgia and anticipated satisfaction. However, what was supposed to be a triumphant return to a cherished dining experience quickly soured, leaving a bad taste in more ways than one.
My order of a double Jack burger was the first sign that something was amiss. Served cold, the burger bore the unmistakable signs of being pre-made, with lettuce that had long lost its crispness under the weight of soggy, juice-letting tomatoes. The disappointment deepened with the presentation of the medium curly fries, which arrived in a box that seemed only half filled, as if to visually underscore the overall lack of care and attention to detail.
The spicy chicken sandwich and accompanying fries did nothing to lift the spirits, both arriving cold and uninviting. Similarly, the tacos and egg rolls shared the same fate – cold, with the egg rolls being notably cold in the middle, an unforgivable oversight that speaks to a lack of quality control and perhaps even apathy in preparation.
Compounding the culinary missteps was the baffling service experience. Despite being the sole customers, our wait time extended to an agonizing 30 minutes, a duration that seemed to mock our anticipation and excitement. This wait, unfounded and unexplained, only served to heighten the disappointment that awaited us.
It's worth noting that my previous visit to another Jack in the Box location was a stark contrast, delivering the quality and taste that I fondly remembered and craved. This only amplifies the disillusionment felt at this Louisville location, highlighting a glaring inconsistency that tarnishes the brand's reputation and my personal connection to it.
In conclusion, this visit to Jack in the Box on Dixie Highway in Louisville has been a profound letdown. The cold, carelessly prepared food, coupled with the unwarranted wait time, has not only soured this particular dining experience but also diminished my enthusiasm for a brand I once held in high regard. It's with a heavy heart that I say I won't be returning to this location, a decision driven by the stark realization that not all Jack in the Box restaurants uphold the quality and joy that I...
Read moreThis is a brand new location in my city, and the first experience was awful. First off, we decided to go inside to order. Employee at register was not very friendly and was not much on answering questions about menu items we were not familiar with as it was new to our town. Once we ordered, we sat and sat and sat. We watched numerous others sitting and waiting. Orders were being handed out very slowly, and people complained that they were wrong. As we continued to sit, we could hear constant arguing coming from the back. Obvious employees were not getting along. It took approximately 30 minutes to get my small order. It was wrong and had to be fixed. Both my daughter and my cheeseburger were cold to the touch. She did not eat her fries because they were not cooked all the way. I also tried the breakfast platter, and it was the only thing that was hot. Eggs were pretty good, and the sasauge was not bad. We ended up taking the hamburger meat home and eating later by warming in microwave, because it was to cold to eat at restaurant and I was not about to ask for a fresher one because it already took 30 minutes to get original order. I can say that the experience was very disappointing and not the expectation you would expect from a new location to town. I can say it will be a long time until I decide to give it a second try, but eventually probably will to see if they got it together or not.
I can also say that this company and management team need to up their game and figure out very quickly to better the service and product issues or they will find themselves struggling to stay afloat after the newness wears off. Dixie Hwy is very known to be a serious area of failed restuarants that are big names like O'Charley, Logans, WW Cousins, Steak & Shake, A&W and dozens of others that have closed up because they failed on the service side and didn't correct the issue for years and eventually led to their closure. With a far superior Five Guys that also just opened close by on Dixie, this Jack in the Box would be well advised that if failure of the magnitude they showed during the 1st couple weeks of opening does not get fixed they will eventually join many other big names on the Dixie that will come and go no matter how deep their corporate financial pockets may be.
I hope they succeed, so we have a variety of places to choose from, but based on my first experience, I will be reserved in my thoughts if they will...
