We stopped in at my Sister's suggestion after volunteering for the Color Run. A small line was forming at the door, nonetheless we were greeted promptly and with a smile. The cozy, breakfast-focused restaurant has a homey feel and a menu with standard offerings (omelets, french toast, pancakes, eggs dishes, etc.) and signature dishes (Ultimate Breakfast Burrito, Baja or Crab Cake Benedict, Monte Cristo, Shrimp & Grits, etc.). The waffles and french toast come in a variety of flavors and can be customized with toppings to your liking. Pillowy biscuits are topped by a flavorful and creamy sausage gravy creating an unforgettable biscuits and gravy. The lunch menu adds a host of soups, salads and sandwiches. Note, for those with restricted diets they have gluten free, vegetarian and vegan dishes. To add, for those non-pork eaters, turkey sausage and bacon are on menu. Pls like if this was helpful.

Cool quirky spot for breakfast. Hard to go wrong with anything you order here. The Dutch Apple Waffles were to die for! Bacon was a little oily and wiggley. So if you like it crispy, you might want to tell them that. The French Quarter French Toast was a ton of food! There is a lot going on in that dish so you might want to split it with a friend and add some sides to even things out. Eggs were good and nearby table omelets looked good too. Coffee options were basic. Would love to see a really vanilla latte or cappuccino as an option, but it may not be their style. Alot to try on this menu, so we will be back. Environment is rustic, but also felt a bit unclean to me. I was sitting in the sun so any dust, random stray eyelash (might have been my own), stuff under the glass top that sat on our table, whatever showed up in the sunlight so I got a little OCD anxiety...hence the 4 stars.

On a busy sunday morning my aunt and I walked up and got on the list, and we're told that if we wanted to sit at one of the tables outside, we could just grab one. Boom. A happy server showed up. Got our drink? Orders give us the menus and then came back and took our order. Piping hot coffee! Ice water with lemon- She kept everything squared away. My aunt ordered a traditional breakfast and it was perfect.I ordered the huevos rancheros. A side of crispy bacon completed this wonderful meal. I never got to see the inside of the place. I'm sure that it's a wonderful experience inside as well. Take a look at the menu. It has a broad range of choices to pick from. It's also most impressive and greatly appreciated that you can order breakfast anytime. You can order any meal on the menu anytime. Our meals were perfect. Our service was exceptional. I'm going back.

"Best Breakfast"?? Uhhm, no. Seriously, seriously disappointing. We chose to stop here on our way through Louisville because of the high ratings it has been given. I cannot seriously imagine who thinks this place is even marginally good, not the great or outstanding its touted as being. This has nothing to do with Covid--it's terrible all on its own.

We were there on a Saturday morning at 11 and it was crowded. Let's begin with the surly staff. The hostess seemed seriously put off when I chose not to sit outside on the sidewalk, right next to a dude who was smoking a foot from the table. Instead, we waited 20 minutes for an inside table, which was our mistake. We should have taken it as a sign and just kept going.

However, we wanted to give it a try since everyone seems to love the place, so we went for the classic breakfast with grits. Let's start by saying that the coffee was disgusting, and for $2.75, I expected something better than gas station quality. It wasn't. Breakfast came in a pretty timely manner, and the eggs were cooked okay for over easy. The grits were fine, once we actually seasoned them with salt since they had none in them. But, the sausage patties were like hockey pucks, and the English muffin wasn't even toasted. They give you margarine in a Solo container--not even real butter--which I would have expected from a place with such high ratings.

My husband didn't want grits, so he ordered skillet potatoes and paid extra for them. They came out raw and crunchy! When we asked the server to have them re-fired, she said, "Well, we don't have a fryer" as if that's what we wanted. No, you don't fry skillet potatoes, but they should be better than RAW. She said it would take 20 minutes to recook them. So my husband had the grits instead, unhappily.

We also ordered one buttermilk pancake, which was really the best part of the meal at Greek Diner quality. The total bill was $29 which seems pretty pricey for food that rivaled a Bob Evans.

Do yourself a favor and take a big hard pass at this place, it's not worth it and I don't see this as just being a bad day on their part. Clearly this place is checked out and I don't know when any positive reviews were written but it's one of the worst breakfasts we've had in...

Being a local to the neighborhood, I really wanted to like this place and find a new breakfast spot. :( Our server Amy was wonderful, but the food wasn’t worth the $40 we spent for 2 people. I ordered the Baja Benedict with eggs scrambled hard, and a side of grits. My bf ordered the classic breakfast with French toast. We got our food at the same time and fairly quickly which was a plus, however our eggs were exactly the same (mine not scrambled hard) , and resembled McDonald’s egg honestly. I don’t like the wet jello like eggs which is why I asked for them scrambled hard. Both of our potatoes were raw and soggy, I had to send my plate back to ask for them to be cooked all the way and for my eggs to be recooked, even saying “extra extra hard”). when I got the next plate the eggs were exactly the same. They had put some color on the potatoes which were okay and the only thing I ate, still not crispy and seasoned like you might be expecting.. we ended up just getting boxes and leaving out of frustration when the second plate came, so didn’t even get to enjoy the experience. The grits had no flavor at all, no salt nothing. French toast we didn’t like either, overall just really disappointing from a place with so many good reviews. The tables are also very close together which made us a bit uncomfortable. Not sure if we just had a bad cook, or the people who enjoy this place have different tastebuds than us.. but we unfortunately won’t...

We went to St. Matthews location today, on a weekday morning. We were rushed to order when it was not crowded, with plenty of open tables & we had stated it was our 1st time. We switched tables to a front corner table, away from being seated right next to the door & our server seemed put out, as she did when I asked for water with no ice. We barely sat at our corner table when she asked for a 3rd time if we were ready to order. My husband got the Ultimate Breakfast Burrito, which was good, but I did not see the sour cream sauce the menu said was on top. His side of fried potatoes were not hot & they were dry. I got the Curry Chicken Salad which hardly had any filling for $9 sandwich! One corner of the sandwich was actually empty. The menu description sounded wonderful, but I couldn't taste the chicken, or celery, onion, golden raisins or almonds. All I tasted was toast & the overly sweet & spiced dressing! The grits were served with tubs of oil "spread" & very surprised that a restaurant like this did not have real butter. Another server tried to take my plate as I was still eating with a fork in my hand. Service & food was disappointing & we did not feel that we got the value of our almost $30 for 2 meals - no drinks...
