Mariscos Los Plebes — Restaurant in Louisville

I don’t typically write these but I felt like I should for this. First off, the staff was awesome and very nice, that deserves praise. However, my girlfriend really wanted to try the seafood here and share an experience with me (she is Mexican), so we came here on a date. Neither of us liked what we ordered at all because of the vast amounts of lime juice and acidity that were in our drinks and food. It’s like vast amounts of pure lime concentrate was poured in what we ordered. I’m one who always finishes my food and then hers because I’m just not picky and am constantly physically active, but we couldn’t. She usually puts lime in her food often already, but this bothered her. We didn’t even make it out of the restaurant before she got sick. I felt terrible throughout the night and was then sick the next two days. On top of that it was very expensive, which wouldn’t be so frustrating if we hadn’t gotten sick. Overall we had a good experience here. We came in at 7 on a Saturday night, I thought it would be busy or packed but it wasn't, we got sat right away. The drinks were good and strong, the salsa could've had a little more flavor but was overall good, the trio dip was really good. My friend had the aguachiles mix, I had the torre de mariscos. Both were a little salty, but they were good otherwise! The torre had a big variety of mariscos in it. The atmosphere was good but a bit after we got there, they started playing live music. It was kinda hard to talk over it, but I will say that I liked that they took a break in between songs. The service was okay, it wasn't bad but it could've been a little better. Most amazing dining experience of my life. There is not one item on the menu deserving less than 5/5 stars. The tacos de birria should get a 6/5. The amount of thought and care that goes into each meal is unmatched. My friends and I also had the privilege of meeting the GM of the restaurant. Will truly takes pride in what he does and helped create an amazing experience for my party. Even though it is a three hour drive, I will absolutely be making it again.
