New Direction Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Louisville

There's plenty of pool tables inside, an outside area and gambling machines, they also have 2 electronic dart boards if that's your fancy. Cheap beer and on busy nights it's completely packed. I thought the bartenders were all sweet except for one who seemed to have an attitude about everything. For example, went there on Thursday night and the bar was completely empty, and there was one bartender (the one who I said has an attitude problem). Since I was new to the bar and didn't know what beers they had, I asked if they had a beer list, to which she chuckled in my face, and smugly shook her head "no". Then I replied with "uh, okay sorry for asking. Can I get a Modelo?" To which I was rudely asked to repeat myself before getting me a can from the fridge. I am usually very lenient with people not wanting to do their jobs, I get it, no one wants to work. But this woman seemed to act like a teenager in the drive thru window of a McDonald's, just ruder and behind a bar. Just make sure you like your bartender...

The bar is in a shopping strip on the Chamberlain road. They have band on Saturday evening. It is right by the Ford plant so most of the clientele is from Ford. They do serve food, I have not tried it but I saw lot of people order pizzas, quesadillas and burgers. I tried the pizza and it is better than most of the chain restaurants. They do have a cover charge on Saturday evening when the band plays but if you get there before 8 you will not have to pay the cover charge. They have a full bar, the "glasses" are plastic. My last visit to New Direction was deeply unsettling. While sitting at the bar and watching the band, I was suddenly and without any provocation, physically assaulted by another patron. I was punched in the face. The most shocking part of the incident was the management's response (who also worked at Blind Squirrel). Instead of addressing the assault or ensuring my safety, the General Manager chose to have me removed from the premises. I was treated as the problem despite being the victim of an unprovoked attack. I cannot in good conscience recommend a venue where customer safety is...
