Where to begin... $180 for 2 people is the normal price for a nice dinner out. But I walked out wishing I had gone to Chick fil A. On the way home I called people who so highly recommended this place. I called them out of confusion. The salad was not a salad. It was a bowl with lettuce in it. That's it. Lettuce. No cheese, egg, or bacon. Sad salad for a fine dining experience. Next up was the filet, except I don't think it was. Not sure what the cut was, but filets don't peel apart like a grands layered biscuit. It was bland and I brought half home to my dogs. The bread was decent. The highlight of the meal was lima beans. They were outstanding. Overall, the service was subpar. Actually had to ask a different waiter for refills because my server was gone for 30 minutes plus. That server never came back. Eventually my server returned and I told him I requested refills from someone else, so he comped a glass of wine for my wife. After dropping off the check, it was at least 20 minutes before he came back for my card. We agreed before dinner was over that we would never come back, so we got the dessert that is made by the owners sister. Thinking it would be something we could never get anywhere else. It was doughy and undercooked. The place is old and clearly has a following that's keeping it open. But it needs a deep cleaning. There was mold growing on the wall 2 feet from my plate. The bathrooms are worse than a gas station bathroom. There are so so so many better, cleaner, options in this city to eat.

Pats was such a pleasant experience for this Nebraska native! From the amazing service, best whiskey sours, welcoming and intimate atmosphere, and the BEST EVER homemade blue cheese dressing. We both ordered medium filet mignons with a side salad, and being where beef is soooo fresh, I have to say the filet was not amazing. We have better filets out in Nebraska all day long with much better prices. But I’m so ok with that-I honestly didn’t expect a showstopper filet in Kentucky and ummm...I definitely didn’t get one šŸ˜‚ But man oh man could the bartender put together the BEST whiskey sour I’ve ever had. I’m not sure what kind of trickery was performed on our drinks but it can’t be recreated, I’ve tried and I’ve also ordered it from everywhere I’ve been since this visit in late October. The side salad I ordered was brought with a side of their house made blue cheese and that blue cheese still teases me in my dreams. I don’t know the magic they perform with this house made blue cheese but it’s the best I’ve ever had and sadly, probably the best I will ever have 😔 Guess I have to plan another trip to KY to have my favorite blue cheese in all of the land. Our server was friendly, engaging, perfect, and very funny too. Although my steak wasn’t amazing, the atmosphere and house-made, love crafted, and passionate items I tried will stay with me always, and I will definitely visit again.

Oh it is good!!! My husband and I went here for our anniversary and it did not disappoint. We were seated in the back in a booth. I was a little apprehensive after we were seated and no waiter came for what seemed like a long time. The people behind us had ordered and were served and had eaten their salad and no one had asked about drinks for us. We flagged down a waiter that passed by and he said he would be glad to help us. He took our drink order and our dinner order. Our drinks were served quickly. And it went uphill from there… We both ordered the Lady filet mignon and it was delicious!! Juicy and cooked to perfection. We also got the Lima beans, cauliflower and hashed browns. The hash browns were sooo tasty. As the waiter explained they are made from boiled potatoes then grated and cooked crispy in a cast iron skillet. It was sooo good. We told them it was our anniversary and the waiter brought us a double hot fudge sundae. Which was a perfect dessert for 2. I also love the old Kentucky atmosphere. It sure has a lot of history in Pat’s. Go and enjoy. Not cheap but worth it!!

I am posting this after a friend insisted I do so.. We went to Pat's on their one and only busiest days..Kentucky Derby day)with a group of owners that had reservations..they just wanted to add us to their table..in NY this is no problem. By the way, Pat's claim to fame is serving jockeys and owners...my father is a Hall of Fame Jockey who has also won the Kentucky Derby. We did not believe this to be a problem. But, we are Hispanic... unbeknownst to us, THAT was the problem. They told us to wait. So we waited. An hour later we were still waiting. I asked what was the status, and was told.."this is our busiest day, what do you expect..and you don't have a reservation." Our owner friends tried various times to speak to the staff and to Pat himself. To no avail...they finally sat us at a separate table from our friends claiming they couldn't do anything to seat us with our friends. After waiting tremendously long for our waiter, he finally came, and we ordered ..except our food never came. When we were exhausted and beyond annoyed at the service, we decided to just leave...regardless that the waiter was bringing our food at the same time we decided to leave...by this time (hours later) the restaurant had cleared tremendously and there were empty tables around us. When we asked to speak to Pat, his staff immediately attacked us and yelled at us for trying to complain saying we "had no rights here" and "you should have never have come here" pointing their fingers at us while yelling. Thinking Pat was going to diffuse the scene, he just made matters worse by shouting to us to "JUST LEAVE". This memory will haunt me and my family (kids included) forever. Pat and his Staff are clear in the types of people they prefer to serve. By the way, 95% of Pat's waiters are black. Clear that slavery is not dead (neither is racism or discrimination). I don't care what kind of stars other people rate Pat's. If you choose to treat people this way in this day and age, you don't deserve for anyone to go to your place of business. You do, Pat's however, deserve this one 🌟 because that...

I've had quite a few friends recommend Pat's as the best steak house in Louisville. I'm afraid we must have gone on a night when the cook was sleeping. The portions were nice, the decor is awesome. We went for our anniversary, I wanted to take my wife somewhere special. We were seated quickly and asked for drinks quickly. The service staff was awesome, continuously checking up on us. The shrimp cocktail app was awesome, I love their cocktail sauce. The salad was quick after and right on par with any other standard salad. This is where it took a turn for the worse.I ordered the 24 oz porterhouse, she the 11-12oz filet. My wife is 8 months pregnant and we specifically asked for hers to be cooked medium, and I always take mine medium rare. The first round of steaks were backwards and a tad wrong. Her filet was rare, and my porter was medium well. We let the waiter know, he made is apologies but we know it is an honest mistake in the kitchen. They took our steaks back and we waited patiently. He returned with our steaks and all fresh hot sides. My wife's filet was now a hunk of black charcoal, and my New porter was raw, not rare, RAW. It barely had a seer on it, when I cut in, I may as well have been cutting into a steak that wasn't even cooked. We hailed the staff again, he made his apologies and re-ordered a 3rd round. We waited patiently eating the little packaged bread sticks they have at the table. The 3rd round came out, and both steaks were not quite as Raw as my second porter, but a cool rare. Almost like it was deliberate at this point. I asked for the check, had the steaks packed into "doggie bags", and still tipped 20%, this isn't the waiters fault and he shouldn't suffer. I did not want to cause a scene with Pat as I was angry and just decided to leave. We were also near running late for a movie. I just finished cooking my steak on the grill with some light seasoning. It is alright, but definitely not a raw $52 dollar porter, and a $48 raw Filet. 1 star for Pat's, a 2nd star for the and...

GO ANYWHERE ELSE! I've had better service at Taco Bell (which is unbelievable) our first and last time there was last night. The service is beyond awful, don't let the nice lady who answers the phone fool you.

1st. We walked in through the side door, no direction and you stand there staring at staff until YOU ask where to go. 2nd. After being seated for 15 minutes, my wife finally got her coke which he sat in the middle of the table while yelling at someone to bring us water. No acknowledgment of us whatsoever. 3rd. Menu says dinner comes with two sides, this is apparently not true if you order two potato items (sweet potato fries and baked potato), and instead of the waiter asking which side I would prefer, he chose for me. 4th. After getting our salads (x4), steaks (x4) and sides (x6 but according to the menu advertised, should be 8) I had to ask for refills on drinks that had been empty for an hr and ask for rolls which came a little over 1.5hrs into our meal. 5th. Instead of asking at the beginning if we were celebrating anything, he asked when we asked for to-go boxes, then we waited another 30 minutes while he decided to get icecream. 6th. We were also told you can't order the sliders and sandwiches on the menu until 9 because they don't make them until then... but they close at 9. 7th. Fries and sweet potato fries were cold, we were told by the waiter they refill sides so it's ok that I didn't get a baked potato. After he left, I was sure to eat every sweet potato fry as fast as possible. No refill for the sides ever came.

Seriously the worst service I've ever had. Be prepared to ask for everything, more water, more coke, rolls, anything and everything is not being observed by staff at all.... Food was good but it's just an expensive steak without even a decent dining experience.

There are also too many tables, pretty sure a fire would kill everyone since theres no room for a safe evacuation (probably going to call fire marshall later...
