This is my coffee shop! I go here all the time! I love the taste and texture of the Black and White.
I usually wouldn't make a post but during this pandemic they are going above and beyond.
There are some rules in place to help with social distancing. I do have one suggestion.
I would highly urge them to sanitize the card reader after EACH use. We just can't be touching something every other customer touches. Keep disinfectant wipes on hand for us to wipe. I will donate wipes for this practice if necessary.
SHOUT OUT TO HEALTHCARE WORKERS!! They give healthcare workers in uniform or with an ID a good discount. It's supposed to be 30% In return, I gave back double as a tip.
Today, I had to wait a little longer than usual for my large Black and White. I didn't mind at all! Naturally a few people recieved they easily made orders before me. This made keeping distance between customers difficult. Again, I didn't mind too much. A man with a bandanna, whom I assume is a manager, was more vigilant of my wait than myself. THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING HEALTHCARE WORKERS! (Also, please sanitize card reader...
Read moreAh, the OG Sunergoes! This is the place that got me into Third Wave coffee. I now own a Breville Express for making espresso drinks at home. My favorite drink to make is a cortado, and I first had this drink (along with the explanation for it) from a barista at Sunergoes. While it is not on the menu, I had gone in wanting a double espresso with some steamed milk on the side because the specialty drinks at most coffee shops are too milky for my taste. Too much milk = washed out in my book. I explained all of this to the very patient barista, and she told me that it sounded like what I wanted was a cortado: 2 oz of espresso and 2 oz of milk (steamed milk+delicious microfoam froth). Sunergoes also introduced me to the concept of a traditional cappuccino (which is 6 oz rather than 12-24): so tasty!
I currently am working on a multi-pound bag of Sunergoes beans, which are reasonably priced and delicious, as I make my very own cortado just about every day.
Most of the Sunergoes locations I have visited have a cool vibe, though the ones near U of L or downtown get quite crowded on the weekends. If you visit the Preston location, make sure to get a doughnut from Nord's next-door; the cake doughnuts are particularly delicious if you can get there before...
