My daughter chose Wild Swann as the culmination of a five-day jaunt to tour bourbon country in celebration of her birthday, her graduation, and her immense badassery (It's a long story).
Holy moly. This place could not have been better. First, we were greeted with such warmth as we entered. Our host took us to about the coolest table I've ever seen...a private booth in what felt like its own gallery.
The Old Fashioneds were perfect, and then came the meal.
I read a bunch of older reviews. Clearly, Wild Swann has taken them to heart. At least for us, our dinners were remarkable.
My daughter got the mushroom bolonese rigatoni. It was so rich and so delicious. I got the mahi, which was insane in a very good way.
We wrapped it up with espresso martinis (Tje Black Swann), which hit the spot. OH! Almost forgot...they brought her a surprise dessert -- the bread pudding -- as a happy birthday wish.
All in all, Wild Swann was the perfect experience for us. So so good. Thank you to the restaurant and our amazing server, whose name I wish I had caught. đ
Five stars are easy for us. I'd give six if I could....
Read moreWe were spending the night in Louisville while traveling and chose this place to have supper. I called for a reservation and was told by Lance who was very nice that there was nothing available until 8:00. We decided to just walk over and sat at bar to have a drink and order some takeout. Melanie, the bartender was great! She knows bourbon and educated us on what she recommended. She made it so fun and quite interesting. Two things that were questionable: we were sitting at the bar for awhile and there were maybe one or two tables with customers. The place was empty pretty much until we left which was around 7:45. I couldnât help but wonder why we were told we could not get a table until 8:00. The other thing I will point out is that the portions were tiny. We were surprised when we got back to our hotel and opened the containers. We wondered if they had perhaps made a mistake. I realize that food doesnât stay hot typically when getting takeout but this was all cold. I would definitely go back to sit at the bar for a drink and app but not sure I would order...
Read moreThis restaurant reminded me of one of those tv shows where a famous chef comes in to try to turn the restaurant around before it closes, but I experienced the restaurant before they called into to show. During our dinner there was a total of 3 other parties. Our caesar salads had old lettuce that was turning brown. The short rib rigatoni ($22) wasn't fresh, it was leftovers microwaved, which they couldn't even get right since the bowl was hot and the food itself was lukewarm. I had to physically bring my dish to the waiter and let her know it was cold since she was preoccupied with socializing with the other staff. The waiter didn't offer anything to try to make it right. I ended up going to another restaurant to eat. There's several restaurants in walking distance that are at the same price point and provide better quality and tastier foods. We're supposed to be a foodie town and this was just an...
