Food is good with beautiful plating and aromas. Atmosphere is wanting - music is too loud and you have to practically shout to have conversations. This may be due to the timing of our reservation (7:30 pm - dinner crowd is pretty robust in places like this) and the day of the week (Friday). Speaking of reservations, our party of three arrived on time but still had to wait for a table, as the hostess seemed to think we were interested in patio seating, when I made it a point to avoid choosing that when making the reservation (it was a mid-March evening in the low 50's, very breezy, and the sun was going down - why would I want to sit outside?). Lights kept dimming and brightening randomly and it made the place look like it was having power surges. Service was okay - again, they were busy, but I have been in busier restaurants and still saw the waiter/waitress more often than we saw the one we had that night. Also, two one-stall unisex bathrooms in such a busy place is problematic. I don't think this was a good spot for E+O to have another location - it's too cramped for the ambiance they want to convey. Parking can be an issue in this congested downtown area and there are very few spots available just outside the restaurant, so be prepared to find a space further away and do...
Read moreWe had a very disappointing experience here tonight. After being seated, we waited over 12 minutes without a single greeting, offer of water, or any acknowledgment from the staff. We politely brought it to the hostess’s attention, but instead of taking action, she and others just looked around at each other—no one apologized or stepped in to help. Several staff members glanced our way but seemed unsure of what to do, and still, no one approached our table.
What was most concerning was that it didn’t seem like anyone was in charge. There was no leadership, no accountability, and no sense of urgency to resolve the situation. We ended up leaving without ever being spoken to by a server.
I understand restaurants can have off nights, but the complete breakdown in basic service and communication was incredibly disappointing especially after given the chance to make it right. It seemed they had ample staff and it wasn’t busy at the time we were there. All around a very...
Read moreAmazing all around. Parking lot was full, but there was street parking. I got the truffle edamame, salmon scrambled, french toast, and a side of goetta. Seriously, it was all good. I had to force myself to stop eating. Goetta had a good crispy crust. Some places don't do goetta well, but E+O fried it perfectly. That salmon scramble was delicious and i'm drooling as I'm typing this. The salmon was tender in small pieces and the eggs were just fluffy. I loved all the greenery and the lights in the in-door decorations. i can't speak for outside since it was super hot on the day i went. They answered all my questions about food allergies and made me feel safe with how much they could answer without asking the back kitchen. The servers could rattle off which dishes had nuts easily. Excellent spot for brunch and i'll come back to try a dinner...
