The BEST Cubano. ❤️❤️ Huuuuuuuuuge, massive, gigantic - the half sandwich feeds me for 2-3 meals 😅 The bread is real Cuban bread made the right way. The other things I've tried are delicious too, I especially loved the ham croquetas and the Cuban tamales (which are nothing like a Mexican tamale! Delicious pork!).
Important to know that this isn't a traditional restaurant (as of this time, hopefully a regular restaurant will come!). Melissa uses Mystic Moon Bakery's kitchen on Mondays and Wednesday to fill takeout orders, and has two different menus for each day. You should order ahead by calling or messaging first. Do not just show up. The "open hours" on Google are just there to indicate when she would be able to let you come and pick up. She will give you instructions on how to get back to the bakery parking lot when you order.
It requires a little planning to order and pickup but ... oh boy. It's so worth it. You'll crave it when you've had it once! 🤤
Bonus! If she's handing out samples coconut ice cream with orders that week you have to try it even if you don't normally like coconut (I don't) - that stuff is amazingly good! 😍 I'd buy it by the pint but it's special and she only makes it in large amounts occasionally...
Read moreThe Albondigon is a perfect blend of flavors, it seems like a recipe that has been handed down over generations. The Cuban tamales are much different than Mexican tamales in a good way. I am already thinking how I can incorporate them into a Thanksgiving dinner. The star of the show is the Cubano sandwich! It is HUGE! (Pictured is half of a sandwich, for an idea of size, the whole sandwich would not fid in a gallon size zip lock bag) the menue says it weighs 3 lbs, I would not be surprised if it was more. The pork is marinated perfectly, tha hame is just sweet enough and great quality. Then there is the bread, oh my the bread! Probably a top five piece of bread I have ever had. (Things like that alway seem to be found in odd places) The owner seems happy, friendly, hard working and generally proud of what she has made. She should be it is...
Read moreA magnificent Cubano! I have been searching high and low for the best Cuban sandwich in Colorado, and I finally found it. Made from scratch Cuban bread really enhances the sandwich. There are no Foo Foo ingredients in this sandwich which is made very traditionally based upon the owner’s family recipes. Straight up preparation creates the finest Cubano outside of Florida. The portions of the exam and house smoked pork are very large! A whole sandwich would be a meal for two. The half sandwich weighed over a pound! Be sure to order your sandwich ahead as they are currently only available on Wednesday and is often sold out. The owner, Melissa has an undeniable passion for authentic Cuban and Puerto Rican cuisine. I can’t wait to try her other creations. It is definitely worth the effort to find...
