This is a nice place. Very tranquil with places for the kids to play and for the adults to BBQ. There's workout stations and even a skate park. Add to that several ball fields for baseball and softball as well as batting cages. The only thing missing is bathrooms. Don't get me wrong, there are bathrooms, they just have signs on the doors that say that the bathrooms are closed for the winter. What the french toast? What do they expect people to do when they're having a lovely picnic in the park with their kids are suddenly little Sally had to go pee? Now this makes no sense to me whatsoever. I sincerely hope that the park management reconsiders this decision and keeps the bathrooms open. I had to cut my lunch date short when my dining companion had to go find a bathroom that's open to the public and the nearest one was nearly a half mile away at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLots of space for kids to run around. My 21 month old had a blast. Splash pad looks fun but not sure when the hours are. I've looked on the website and there's no signage in the playground with info.
There are nice trails and you can get in parts of the river. The current is pretty fast so I wouldn't recommend for littles.
We also come here on Sunday for the farmers market and that does not disappoint. Not too many vendors but just enough. Plus our favorite booth, miller farms, are there. They have a fill your bag situation and it's fabulous. Veggies for the week for only $15.
There are plenty of restrooms and they are clean. The handicap stall in the women's restroom does NOT have a lock.
Update: the new toddler playground is AMAZING. The restrooms are unfortunately locked Monday-Thursday. There is a porta-potty...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUpdate: 8/4/25 This whole area has gone downhill, the water area never seems to work anymore, the homeless and sketchy people are multiplying making it not really feel very safe or comfortable. When we went on a Monday around 5, the homeless were gathering wood to make a fire in the picnic grills and it was smoking up the whole area. I'd avoid this playground and area and go to the Civic Center Park, still homeless, but there is security that patrol the areas around the Chilson center and the library. If I were to swim in the river, this is not the place to do it, as I'm certain it's a bathing area, judging by what I've seen.
A nice splash pad in the summer, but not as much fun in the other seasons. The playground is so-so. The Farmers Market in the summer is pretty nice to walk through despite catering to...
