The food was pretty good. This location usually nails it, in that respect. Got two hot dogs, and the buns were fresh, the hot dogs were fresh, and the condiments were piled perfectly. The shake was delicious also, it was the banana cream pie shake. Do you like bananas? Get it. Tell them to hold the whipped cream though, it's that whipped not cream that doesn't have to be refrigerated. Whipped vegetable oil and corn syrup? But the shake is pretty delicious, in and of itself. So why 3 stars? If my food arrived within 10 seconds of ordering it, it was only 1/2 price, and the shake was upgraded to large for price of medium, I still wouldn't give 5 stars: there's always room for improvement (could have delivered the meal within 9 seconds, offered 55% off, and charged the price of water for the shake, for starters) and 5 Star ratings make the business get a swollen head or inflated ego. But, the reason for not getting 4 stars: the employee delivering the food out lied about the drink with the meal. Ordered the drive up meal special, $2.99 for burger, fries, and drink. And another banana shake (told you, they're delicious). Employee, when asked where the sink for the meal was, said they worked the shake into the meal, reducing the cost. I say thank you, leave thinking what nice people they were, and look at the receipt when I get home. Son of a Mitch. Meal is $2.99. And both shakes are the same price, total of $9.xx. That makes me unhappy, and makes you lose a star for keeping and drinking (I can only assume) what should have been MY drink. I hope it didn't taste right without MY accompanying meal. The drink thief/drinker of a drink they didn't know where it came from but knew they didn't purchase it, AND the lying employee who laid lies my direction should have to eat a burger and fries and only have a banana cream pie shake to wash it down with. That'll teach them, or maybe it was just her. I don't remember her name, but I'll forever refer to her as Accessory to Drink Pilfering. Lucky for no one but me, this won't stop me from eating there. But you bet I'll be watching, very carefully. Very carefully. Seriously tho, best Sonic...
Read moreStopped here to grab dinner before heading to work, they weren't too busy that I could see so I just pulled into a spot. Took some time deciding what I wanted then pressed the button to order. Person came on the speaker & I asked for a #1 with Mayo & no cheese, with no salt on the fries & a sweet tea easy ice. I'm not sure if they couldn't hear me well inside or if they need to update their speakers or what but I had to repeat myself 2 more times. One of the times she thought I said cheese & no Mayo. The second time she thought I said only cheese & Mayo. I THOUGHT she finally got it but when it came out it was a plane burger with MAYBE a splate of Mayo on it. So I sent it back. I forgot to mention that I waited about 10 to 15 min for it to come out the first time. After I sent it back to be corrected I commenced to wait for the second time. I waited..and waited..and waited. Another 15+ minutes went by & still nothing, so I pressed the button again. Come to find out the car hop who took the burger back inside didn't even mention that it was wrong & needed to be fixed to anyone! So needless to say I was a tad irritated at this point as I had already been sitting there for almost an hr waiting on my food. Not even eating my food...just waiting. Now I am not a complainer & I give grace to the food service industry a lot as they deal with a lot of ungrateful self ritiouse jerks on a daily basis. I also know we are all human & make mistakes. HOWEVER, I have been in customer service for 25 years & I DO believe in that 100%. I do not feel I received the best customer service at all. Yes my food was corrected but it was definitely NOT in a timely manner. I used to LOVE this specific Sonic and have picked this one to come to for at least the last 17 years..if not more but in the past few years it has gone waayy down in customer service & consistency & even sometimes quality. I will have to think real hard about if I want to return to this location...
Read moreGotta be honest, I don't get eating in your car. But enough people do to keep Sonic thriving, so we gave it a shot. The girl who took our order couldn't possibly have sounded more bored and like she'd rather be anywhere else. Time to pay - would I like to add a tip? - not really, tipping's supposed to reward good service, but my food's being held hostage... Pretty sure a different girl brought our food because she was actually nice. It's awkward though; if you park close enough to push buttons on the menu, there's not enough room for someone to come up to your window to hand in your food!
The fries were surprisingly good, but having ketchup packets with no place to squeeze them onto was a real problem. Why can't they use Whataburger-style tubs instead? But it got better; my Double SONIC Queso Smasher was better than good - one of the most enjoyable burgers I've had in a while. Just for the record, I had to rebuild the burger before I ate it because most of the jalapeno slices were in the bottom of the box. The burger definitely wouldn't have been as good without them.
Despite our best efforts - and we did try hard - some bits escaped to between the seat and the console, others ended up on the floor, and I was wearing a few. I guess that's just part of the experience the eat-in-your-car-people...
