So I'm gonna give this a high rating from the start since I've been here twice in one week. Ambience is relaxed and since there is no beach areas this is the next best thing especially on hot days.
The chips are amazing and the queso and brisket is on a tier of it's own, as you can see there is no photos since my wife and I eat them in a sitting. Drinks are good, I always go for a good moscow mule. Apparently their slaw is good but I don't like dry slaw, it's a me preference so no points docked. I will however give points for having amazing rice, I'm weird I like rice with everything. I love the daiquiris here, since I'm not much of a drinker. Ribs are a on a Tennessee rub style, smokey and great for leftovers. So the portions are great for the price, so if it seems like a lot it's cause it gives you a lot. Also they make one hell of a burger amazed they don't have a reward for that because honestly they need to! The food is fresh; when I say fresh I mean both times I have burned my mouth on the temperature of the food since most places are semi normal with hot to warm temperatures so user beware and staff is very friendly.
Okay so my wife did order a flithy martini and to those who read this segment. I appreciate you. So we actually have a contender to bdubs/Buffalo Wild Wings Longmont; But on a note of balanced taste according to my wife who helps this segment. Read moreThis would be my second time there. I always try to give things more than one try. The first time we went there it was complete disaster.. The service was beyond horrible not only did we sit at our table for so long that we had to go up and ask for service. Then when they gave us service it was full of excuses about problems with the kitchen and then our bill was calculated wrong. At the end it just seemed like way more trouble than it was worth. Let's talk about what it's worth, the food here is pretty expensive. The first time I went I got a rib platter and the ribs were pretty tough but tasty. My counterpart got fish and chips and had to send it back because it was battered raw in the middle and cold and overcooked on the outside. This time when we went I got a brisket salad. Although the brisket was very delicious in it, it was way overwhelming. With red onions. It seemed more like onion salad. And then again my counterpart got the fish and chips and they were not good. I had to laugh because twice bitten. As far as the atmosphere, I really feel the place can use some sprucing up. It looks grungy. I know that they are kind of going with the biker theme which is fine. Can be fun with that type of theme, but this place just overall feels dirty. Read moreHogfish has a nice fun, relaxed atmosphere. Very laid back and inviting. They have a nice patio seating area and plenty of space inside. It's very clean and you can tell that it is managed well. The servers are great. Very attentive. The food was tasty. I ordered catfish and it came with two sides and some hush puppies. As well as some wings and a salad. I know in this economy that food prices are extremely high. I do think that it was a little overpriced but again in this economy everybody is kind of struggling to keep up. For example, a chicken salad was $17. In my opinion I think that's overpriced. Maybe if it was $12 to $14 I could understand but $17 almost $20 is out of range and then if you wanted to add fish to it it becomes $24. But back to the food everything came out extremely hot, fresh and delicious. The catfish was a little undersized but it was fine. The smoked chicken wings were just okay. I wouldn't say that they were my absolute favorite but they were just fine. I'll touch dry. I maybe would have brined them especially if I was going to smoke them because the inside was not very juicy. I probably wouldn't order them again.
