Gong Cha Lowell — Restaurant in Lowell

I usually don’t leave bad reviews, but my experience here was honestly upsetting. The staff was completely disorganized—no one seemed to know what they were doing. I placed my order and waited over 20 minutes, only to be handed the wrong drink… twice.

To make matters worse, because of their mix-ups, another customer thought I had taken her order and started yelling at me in front of everyone. The worker who handed me the drink just stood there awkwardly and didn’t say a word to clear things up—even though it was clearly their mistake.

I felt embarrassed and uncomfortable, and not once did anyone apologize or even acknowledge the situation. It was chaos behind the counter, with drinks piling up, names being called out wrong, and the employees just kind of guessing who each drink belonged to.

Save your money. Go somewhere else. Snowdae is right down the street and so...

Verdict: It’s worse every visits. I’ve gone to shops, boba or not, where even if they messed up, they’re honest about it & will remake.

Story: Ordered 2 drinks via online. Their packaging is so bad for to-gos. Now it’s in a paper bag that doesn’t hold drinks upright. I’m all for saving the planet as much as we could, but maybe design the bag where the drinks aren’t flopping all over the place when carried. Got home, just to have 1 of 2 drinks feel slimy out of the bag. First instinct it spilled. Checked, nothing. How come the drink isn’t filled all the way? The seal has no puncture. My theory is they spilled the drink due to the 1st initial seal not properly done. Instead of remaking or work something out to fill it up, they resealed it & placed in the bag like the photos shown. This is a review for my first visit to the Gong Cha location which opened recently in Lowell. The service was pretty rough which is understandable for a new place. There were 4 people working there. The order process was pretty smooth, but it took forever for anyone to actually start making our order. They were standing around for a while. One guy made our teas while one of the others wandered over to clean the front door instead of making tea. It took him a pretty long time. I'm hopeful that these issues will get worked out. The actual teas were ok. Just a warning that the sweetness seems to vary alot. We had a passion fruit yogurt slush and a wintermellon Milk tea, both less sweet.
